As they entered the next room, they stepped onto the floor of a forest. Within the forest, an iron gate led to the entrance to a maze.
"Welcome to my finest creation! The Labyrinth of Illusion!" The mage's voice came from every direction.
"Is he serious about this?" Gerard asked.
"Let's just get this over with," Vane said, walking towards the entrance.
Everyone murmured in agreement as they followed behind. Gerard stood there last, looking at Delilah's back as she pushed forward.
Gerard took a deep breath and steeled himself as he stepped through the imposing iron gate leading into the foreboding depths of the labyrinth. The moment he crossed the threshold, an invisible force surged through the air, separating him from his companions and leaving him standing alone amidst the ethereal mist.
"Sprite! Delilah!" Gerard yelled.
Gerard exhaled sharply and clenched his fists.
*Sprite?*
No response.
"Looks like we've got to do this one by ourselves."
