Chapter 884 - Chapter 884 The Bell Rings, The King Comes

With a method to deal with the wyverns, things got much easier. After encountering a few wyverns, they were all taken down effortlessly with this strategy, with no pressure at all. The small monsters were also easily handled, but the humanoid monsters proved to be more troublesome.

After all, members of the Loki Familia initially planned to have a peaceful interaction upon first meeting. However, in this world, most of the humanoid creatures blocking their path were either crazed or barely hanging onto life.

Few resembled the Onion Knight, so when encountering such beings, they ultimately had to take matters into their own hands. Fighting humanoid creatures was much simpler; they just needed to gang up on them.

By now, the Loki Familia's power had grown significantly since entering this world, so dealing with these enemies was relatively easy. In this world, the true challenges came in the form of powerful bosses. As for the smaller monsters, only some elite monsters were troublesome.

Yet, it was only troublesome, nothing like the scale of threat a boss would pose. So, the group fought their way forward, clearing out nearly all life on the Archdragon Peak.

Finally, they arrived in front of a massive clock.

This was the clock to summon the Nameless King. He would likely be a formidable opponent, so everyone prepared themselves!

Riveria stepped forward and began casting spells to set up traps in advance. Although Lefiya couldn't match Riveria's power, she was already chanting, so that by the time the Nameless King appeared, they could immediately initiate the fight, which is a critical advantage.

Once Riveria set her traps and the others completed their preparations, they struck the massive bell.

As the bell's toll echoed, thick clouds of ash-gray mist gathered at the Archdragon Peak, spreading swiftly under their feet. This substance was solid enough to stand on, not simply hovering in the air.

"This is a strange material, which means he should be arriving soon!"

Everyone watched the strange scene before them, speechless. The arrival of these bosses always seemed to come with a dramatic sound, and, sure enough, a wyvern's roar echoed in the distance. Soon, a strange wyvern appeared, with a white-haired figure wielding a long spear riding atop it, a figure with an intense aura of authority, akin to a king.

"Here he comes… that's the Nameless King. A true king, no doubt. And his steed is a wyvern. Riveria, Lefiya, let's go! Attack first!

Gareth raised the Yhorm's Shield to protect the group, and Riveria and Lefiya unleashed their magic, hurling torrents of fire and flame spears toward the Nameless King.

But this wasn't the two-phase Nameless King of the games; he attacked with full force immediately, wielding the lightning power of the 'Golden Lightning'.

As his spear struck the sky, a colossal bolt of lightning shot straight toward Lefiya and Riveria, who were in mid-attack.

The forces clashed, caught in a stalemate, with lightning, flames, and explosions filling the battlefield.

"What a strong guy, he actually scattered Riveria's and Lefiya's magic with lightning. As expected, he won't be easy to defeat. Everyone, prepare to engage!"

Bete charged forward, while the two Amazonian sisters took up ranged positions. Given that he was riding a wyvern and airborne, this was a challenging target, so the sisters unleashed a relentless barrage of arrows.

They aimed to bring down the wyvern with their powerful wyvern-hunting arrows, known for their lethal effectiveness against wyverns.

Ais charged in, intending to draw the Nameless King's attention and act as a distraction. Gareth maintained his role, shielding and protecting the group defensively.

Realizing their previous attacks weren't effective, Riveria and Lefiya switched to focused, single-target spells.

Although these spells were slightly less powerful, they were also harder for the Nameless King to intercept. Additionally, the range of their spells exceeded that of the wyvern-hunting arrows, limited only by their magical reserves.

However, the wyvern beneath the Nameless King was an elite beast, far from easy prey. Flying above them and constantly dodging the group's thunderous attacks, it thwarted the assault, and those on the ground struggled to land a clean hit.

They quickly realized they'd need to exploit any opening. It was only a matter of time, as even a warrior like the Nameless King couldn't sustain flawless defense indefinitely. Soon, Riveria landed a lightning strike squarely on the wyvern's body. Although it was resistant to lightning, this strike created a critical moment.

In this brief opening, the Amazonian sisters released their wyvern-hunting arrows, aiming not just to pierce the wings but to strike the base where the wings met the body. They knew that simply puncturing the wings wouldn't ground it unless they inflicted significant structural damage. Lefiya followed up, synchronizing her attack.

Unexpectedly, the group's coordinated assault succeeded. Under the heavy pressure, the wyvern couldn't hold its flight and began to fall. With the wyvern's descent, Bete and Ais saw their chance.

Lefiya cast a spell on Bete's boots, which were a unique magical item designed to absorb magical energy and unleash powerful flame-enhanced attacks. Given his skill with leg-based strikes, Bete took a fiery leap and delivered a powerful kick to the wyvern's head, sending it reeling.

Staggered under this assault, the wyvern couldn't recover in time before Ais arrived, her divine power ready to strike.

Unlike Bete's strike, Ais's weapon was a true blade, and her blow carried even greater destructive force. However, the Nameless King anticipated the threat and managed to block her sword just in time.

But Ais's blade did not aim to sever the wyvern's head. Instead, she pierced the wyvern's eye, blinding it in one instant. Enraged, the wyvern thrashed uncontrollably, even the Nameless King struggling to steady himself atop it.

In the chaos, Riveria unleashed another spell, a surge of flame that engulfed the wyvern. While highly resistant to lightning, the wyvern was surprisingly vulnerable to fire.

With feathers that seemed to resemble a cross between a chimera and a wyvern, the creature's body ignited. The flames grew into a raging inferno, turning the wyvern into a massive fireball as it roared in agony.
