Chapter 78 - To Half-Blood Hill

Dragonstone, AOT World

Year 846

"It's good to see you, doctor." Aemon tells Doctor Hamilton with a nod as he sits himself at the head of the table. "It feels as if it has been moons since we've last seen one another." he says.

"It's only been a few days for me." replies Hamilton. "Although in those few days I managed to come up with this." the doctor says as he places a vial on the table. Within the vial is clear liquid that can easily be mistaken for water, yet simply by looking at it Aemon can tell that it is anything but water.

"What is this?" asks Aemon as he takes the vial in hand and brings it closer to his eye. The only thing that he can gleam from the vial is the faint feeling of magic coming from it, almost as if it were some form of potion or concoction. Yet the feeling is too faint for that to be the case.

"This is a serum that theoretically should be able to replicate the abilities of the Ackermans." explains Doctor Hamilton, causing Aemon's eye to slightly widen in shock.

When Doctor Hamilton had found out the details of the Attack on Titan world he had expressed interest in Levy and the other Ackermans' abilities and had requested a vial of Levy's blood for testing. The request was a simple enough one to grant, and with Levy's blessing he had handed the doctor half a dozen vials of Levy's blood and from there had never thought of the matter again. He did not expect anything to come of Doctor Hamilton's request for the logic behind the Ackermans' abilities is not something he expected the doctor to parse out, for despite the doctor's vast intellect he still falls short of the true geniuses of his world such as Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, T.O. Morrow, etc…

"I did not expect you to succeed." admits Aemon as he returns the vial to the doctor.

"Neither did I." says Doctor Hamilton as he leaves the vial on the table. "However, the rewards from the DCG's random draw were perfect for achieving success. Almost as if the system knew that I would need those rewards specifically." he explains.

"You too uh?" asks Anakin, drawing Aemon and Doctor Hamilton's attention to him.

"What do you mean?" asks Aemon with a frown.

"After returning to my home universe I decided that it was time to put the system's rewards to use. Imagine my surprise when I realised that the rewards were tailor made for my situation. A holocron of Revan, knowledge of intergalactic warfare, a device to surgically remove chips implanted in the brain, and even defense against mind control and corruption." explains Anakin.

"How convenient." Aemon says wryly before turning to Percy, the demigod's eyebrows furrowing while his pen twirls between his fingers. "And you?" asks Aemon, knocking Percy from his thoughts.

"Um, Annabeth kind of noticed the same thing." says Percy as he turns to the girl as if expecting her to elaborate. Yet she does nothing of the sort, only staring at Aemon with a raised eyebrow.

"She does not trust me." observes Aemon with a slight smile.

"You're a fey." Annabeth says as though those words explain everything.

Though in a way they do. To anyone who is knowledgeable of their works, the fey are not a trustworthy lot. They may not be able to outright lie, but that does not make them honest. In fact, one can argue, and rightfully so, that it simply makes them more creative with their dishonesty.

"Wise girl—" Percy begins, only to be interrupted by her.

"No, seaweed brain." she says. "He's a fey. Just because he can't outright lie doesn't mean that he's trustworthy, In fact, it's the exact opposite. Plus, he's the King of the Unseelie Court. The Unseelie Court do you have any idea what that means? The Seelie Court at least care's about humanity in a sort of pet/owner kind of way, but the Unseelie Court doesn't care at all. They're cunning, spiteful, vicious, and extremely violent. They're culture is less of a society and more of a military." she explains, her words causing the fey who stand guard around the room to stand even straighter, as if her words are something to be proud of.

"Well, I don't think that I have ever heard a more glowing description of us." says Hersam from his standing position behind Aemon.

"Indeed. One could mistake her for a daughter of Apollo with her way with words." agrees Aemon. "Though I despise her statement about our culture. We are not a military. Our society has customs, laws, and the like." Aemon adds while ignoring Annabeth's protest at being mistaken for a child of Apollo.

"Dude, not helping." says Percy, before he turns back to Annabeth.

"No matter." says Aemon before Percy can try to persuade her of his trustworthiness. "Today I will be going to your camp to see the progress made under Dairic's tutelage."

"Wait, really?" asks Percy.

"Of course." says Aemon. "I may have delegated the task to him, but I am still responsible for the education of the demigods."

Left unsaid and unheard by everyone else, save perhaps by the other fey, is that Dairic and the other Seelie Knight's survival hinges on whether or not Aemon finds Dairic's education and training of the demigods satisfactory. The assignment was a test of their loyalty and competence. Should their performance not be to Aemon's satisfaction then they will be killed. Aemon has no need of incompetent and disloyal subordinates.

"Nice. When are we going?" asks Percy.

"Soon." replies Aemon before he turns to Hersam. "Summon Algrim and Malenia" he tells him, earning a bow from the fey before he leaves to fulfill the command.

While they await Algrim and Malenia's arrival, Aemon turns his attention to Anakin, "And what brings you here?" he asks.

"It's starting." Anakin replies. "Obi-Wan and I received the mission to guard Padme." he says, his lips pursed into a grim line.

"Do you need help?" Aemon asks as he leans forward in his seat. Various plans and ideas on how to help Anakin filter through his mind. Some are discarded, others tabled, but most are ideas that can be implemented immediately.

"Not for the mission." Anakin says with a frown as his hand absently fidgets with his lightsaber. "But I do want to ask you something. Is it possible for my mom to stay here while the war is waging?" he asks.

"Of course." Aemon replies, not even hesitating for a second.

"Thank you." says Anakin.

"Despite how short it has been I consider you all to be my friends. A matter such as this is not one I would ever say no to." Aemon tells him, his eye looking towards Doctor Hamilton and Percy as he says so.

The rest of the time waiting for Algrim and Malenia's arrival is spent making idle conversation between them. They speak of their recent experiences, the differences between their cultures and worlds, and even personal matters

It is a brief moment of respite in their usually hectic and chaotic lives, a moment that they all appreciate. Even Doctor Hamilton, a non-combatant and scientist at heart, has had his fair share of excitement lately. His world continues to become more and more dangerous as rumors of costumed and superpowered beings have long begun to circulate, with most choosing to commit crimes while few make the decision to protect the public and uphold the law. It seems that for every hero there are around a dozen villains.

Even Metropolis, a city known as the "City of Tomorrow", as its fair share of problems.

"Wait, did you say Superman?" asks Percy as Doctor Hamilton finishes describing his city's protector.

"I did. Do you know him?" replies the doctor.

"Yea. He's like one of the top ten greatest comic book superheroes." says Percy. "Just like there's movies and shows about Anakin's world, we have comic books, shows, and movies about the heroes from your world. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman…there's a bunch." he explains.

"I see." says Doctor Hamilton as he strokes his beard. "In that case it will make preparing for future supervillains easier."

"Hmmm, I'm not so sure man." says Percy with a sheepish smile. "While Anakin's world has one continuity, your's has hundreds. A lot of the comics, shows, and movies take place in different worlds. Yea they have a lot of similarities, but some of the small details are different enough that it changes the entire story." he says.

"I see." repeats the doctor as Ghost's massive form enters the chamber with Algrim and Malenia in tow. Up in the air Huginn's caw draws everyone's attention as he circles them thrice before landing on Aemon's shoulder.

Like Ghost and Caraxes, Huginn has clearly taken a drink from the Well of Light. Though unlike Ghost who showed restraint, the raven clearly followed the dragon's example of drinking from all pools, for his black plumage shimmers silver and gold, at times by themselves and other times blended together. Such behavior is quite unlike the raven for at times he can be as restrained as Ghost, and other times even more restrained than the direwolf.

"Your majesty." greet Algrim and Malenia as the former kneels while the latter merely bows.

"Good, you are here." says Aemon as he stands before turning towards Anakin and Doctor Hamilton. "Will you be joining us?" he asks them.

"No. I need to get ready for my mission." says Anakin.

"I too have matters to attend to, though do not worry I will be seeing you all soon." replies the doctor.

"Very well." says Aemon as the two teleport back to their world.

Without saying anything else Percy teleports them to his world.

Essos, Asshai

107 AC

Not much has changed in the city of Asshai, the sorcerers, warlocks, witches, and the like continue their depraved practices. The city has become a hive of debauchery to such an extent that it would put the Valyrian Freehold to shame and make the Bloodstone Emperor proud.

Acts such as torture, slavery, and cannibalism abound as if it were the norm, and dark arts practices such as necromancy, beastiality, and blood and human experiments are constantly being conducted and led by the Church of Starry Wisdom. Should anyone knowledgeable in the lore of the first Long Night bear witness to the acts committed by the city's residents, they could be forgiven for believing themselves to have ended up back in time during the reign of the Bloodstone Emperor. However, the various magical rituals and acts do not stop the city's ruling class from plotting and scheming

In the same building as last time, said ruling class can be found in council as they receive a report on their latest venture.

"Well?" demands one of the men. "We do not have all day. How did it go?"

"It was a success, my lords." says the subordinate. "While the Targaryens were occupied by the assault on King's Landing, we managed to place the Cannibal, Sheepstealer, and the Grey Ghost under our thrall. They fly towards the city now even as we speak."

"Very good." says another voice, this one a woman. "And what of the Stepstones and our guest?" she asks.

"Our guest is now completely under our control. While her will is strong, and her magic powerful, she is still young. No older than twenty and five I wager. It seems that she has yet to experience The Conquest." says the subordinate before briefly hesitating. "As for the Stepstones… It seems that they have found reinforcements. All the islands are now well fortified and manned with well trained, and disciplined soldiers. At first we thought them to be unsullied, however there has not been any purchases of unsullied soldiers of late. Currently we are incapable of making any progress there and any attack is simply a waste of resources."

After hearing the subordinate's words all in the room fall silent as they contemplate the matter.

It is like this that the meeting continues, with the subordinate reporting all the ongoing events around the world and the masters listening and plotting. Despite their recent victory of obtaining three more dragons, they have made no headways in any of their other plans. Westeros has become a death zone for no matter what agents they send there they always die without accomplishing anything of significance. It is to the extent that they ponder not sending any more agents there until they are ready for the war.

Unknown to them all of their plots and schemes are being witnessed by a shadow that not even the most powerful of them has noticed. And through this shadow said schemes are being relayed to their worst enemy and the sole being behind the founding of their coalition. This oversight will be one of the many reasons behind their downfall.
