Y/N's POV
Lucas: "Max, can you take me there? I want to rest there… please!!!" 😥
Before I could say no, Emma quickly answered.
Emma: "Yeah, go right ahead!!!" 😅
I facepalmed. 'Why did Emma do this to me?' Max took Lucas to my room. After they left, I pulled Emma aside.
"Why did you let him rest in my room, Emma?" 😠 I asked.
She just shrugged her shoulders and said,
Emma: "He said he wanted to rest there, so I told them… But why are you angry? Is there a problem???" 😲
I closed my eyes in frustration. "Em—" 😞
Before I could finish, the doorbell rang.
Emma: "Maybe the doctor is here!" 🤔 She ran to open the door and returned with a doctor who looked about 40 years old.
Emma: "Doctor, this way, please! My fiancé's friend is sick." 😟
The doctor nodded and followed Emma to my room.
Emma: "Let's go, Y/N." 😲
I sighed and followed them. When we entered my room, we saw Lucas sleeping on my bed while Max stood nearby. I stood in the corner, arms crossed.
Doctor: "Oh, so you're the patient, Lucas?" 🙂
Lucas opened his eyes, looking slightly shocked.
Lucas: "Oh… Dr. Brown??" 😨
'Wait, they know each other?'
Max: "You two know each other??" 🤨 Max voiced exactly what I was thinking.
Doctor: "Yes, he is—" 😌
Before the doctor could finish, Lucas interrupted.
Lucas: "Mr. Brown, can you check me first?" 🙄
The doctor nodded and began checking him. Lucas whispered something to the doctor, and the doctor nodded.
Doctor: "He's fine, but we need to do a full check-up at the hospital. It's just a routine examination, so please visit my hospital tomorrow, okay, Lucas?" 🙂
Lucas just nodded.
Max: "Okay, Doctor." 😄
The doctor wrote down some prescriptions.
Doctor: "Here are some medicines for your headache." 🙂
Max took the note and shook hands with the doctor.
Max: "Thanks, Doctor." 😌
Then, Max and the doctor left the room.
Lucas hesitated before speaking.
Lucas: "Hmm… I'm sorry, I mean I—" 😓 He sat up on the bed.
Emma: "No need to apologize, Lucas!" 😄 Emma said cheerfully.
Lucas: "Can I talk with Y/N for a moment, please?" 🙄
'Oh, so he still remembers that the word please exists?' 😑 I was surprised. I was about to refuse, but Emma, having a big mouth as always, spoke before me.
Emma: "Yes! I'll go check on Max." 😅
She quickly left the room. I was about to follow her, but Lucas stopped me.
Lucas: "Y/N, please stop… Let me explain—" 😥
"WHAT?! What do you want to explain, huh?!" 😡 I yelled.
He was shocked for a moment but then stood up from the bed.
Lucas: "I-I am sorry." 😞
I folded my arms and let out a sarcastic chuckle.
"Oh, what are you sorry for? Let me guess… Are you sorry for slapping me? No, no, maybe you're sorry for beating me up in the college cafeteria?" 🤨
He suddenly dropped to his knees and pressed his hands together. I was about to walk away, but when I saw his eyes—'Wait… is he crying?! Lucas never cries…'
Lucas: "Please, Y/N… I was an idiot back in college… I-I made so many mistakes… b-but please, understand my feelings… I only did that because I—I wan—" 🥺
'Like I'm going to fall for that.'
"Oh, because you wanted to kill me, right???" 🤬 My eyes were now teary.
Lucas: "NO!! Y/N… I never wa—" 😢
I cut him off.
"Haha, you just admitted it yourself! Anyway, just forget it. I don't ever want to see you again… And yeah, I will never forgive you, Lucas." 🤬
I turned and ran out of the room.
Emma was standing near the door, looking shocked to see me like this. Without a word, she pulled me into a hug and led me to her room. We sat on her bed.
Emma: "Y/N… I really want to know what happened between you and Lucas. But if you're not ready to tell me, that's okay… You can tell me later. But please, stop crying… I don't want to see you like this." 😌
I hugged her tightly.
"Emma… I hate him. I really hate him." 😭 I sobbed into her arms.
Emma: "It's okay, Y/N… I'm here. Don't worry… shhh." 😌
After some time, Max entered the room.
Max: "Emma… we're leaving now!" 😌
We both looked at him.
Emma: "Okay! Call me when you get home, baby." 😙
She kissed him.
Max: "Yeah, I love you." 😊
Emma: "I love you too." 😊
Then, Max turned to me.
Max: "Sister, bye! Loved meeting you again." 😃 He hugged me.
"Bye, brother! I'm always ready to meet you!" 😄
We walked out of the apartment. I didn't see Lucas anywhere. 'Good. It's better this way.' 😒
Max: "Okay, beauties, we're off! Lucas is waiting for me in the car." 😅
We waved at him before heading back inside.
Emma: "Ugh, I'm exhausted… Good night, Y/N!" 🥱 She yawned and walked to her room.
I sighed and did the same. I entered my room and lay down on my bed. 'Worst day of my life…' I thought.
Then, I noticed an envelope on my nightstand. I grabbed it and pulled out the photos.
'Mr. Annoying is now Mr. Kiss Stealer.' 😑
I smirked and immediately changed his contact name in my phone. Then, I put the envelope in my drawer.
Suddenly, a message popped up on my phone.
???: "Why did you go on a date with that man???" 🤨
I was shocked. 'Who the hell is this?'
Me: "Who are you???" 😲 I quickly typed back.
???: "Already forgot me, baby? I'm your idiot thief." 😏
I stared at my phone, feeling my heart race. 'Why is he texting me now? What does he even want?' I bit my lip, debating whether to reply. Instead, I let out a deep sigh, put my phone down, and pulled the blanket over my head.
'Just ignore him, Y/N. Just sleep.'
But no matter how much I tried to push it aside, my mind kept replaying his words. "Already forgot me, baby?"
My heart wasn't listening to my logic. It was pounding too fast, making it impossible to relax.
Then—
my phone buzzed again.
Someone was calling me.
'Oh no, that idiot is calling me… What should I do?!' 😱
I hesitantly checked the caller ID… and sighed in relief.
I picked up the call.
