Y/N's POV
"Please… don't kiss me… I-I—" I whispered, my voice shaking. My body tensed as I felt him move closer to my ear. Oh no, why is he doing this to me? It's making me shiver like crazy.
He exhaled softly, his warm breath sending a chill down my spine.
???: "Mmm… Y/N, I can't control myself… but I'll do it for you… just for you, okay?" His voice was strained as if he was struggling with himself.
His lips barely brushed my ear before he moved down toward my neck. I could feel his hot breath as he inhaled deeply, making me squirm.
I knew he was trying to control himself—I could feel his breathing becoming unsteady, his chest rising and falling against mine.
A shiver ran down my spine as his nose traced along my skin. My heart pounded, my body frozen in place.
What is he doing to me?
???: "Y/N… can we stay like this tonight? I swear I won't harm you… but please, just stay. Please" His voice was soft, almost pleading.
My breath hitched. His words should have terrified me, but there was something in his tone—something desperate, almost vulnerable.
I wanted to push him away, to run, to scream… but my body refused to move. My mind screamed at me not to trust him, yet my heart pounded for an entirely different reason.
If he were my boyfriend or husband, I might have kissed him right now. But no—he was a thief. He could harm me at any moment. My mind screamed at me to fight back, to push him away, but my body wouldn't move.
He inhaled against my skin again, sending shivers down my spine.
"O-Okay…" I murmured, my voice barely audible. I had no other choice right now.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips before he pressed a gentle kiss onto my forehead. The warmth of it… the tenderness—it felt calming. Why am I feeling this way?
I felt his weight pressing down on me, making it difficult to breathe.
"Umm… y-you're heavy…" I stuttered, trying to shift under him.
He laughed, his chest vibrating against mine, sending goosebumps all over my skin.
???: "Hahaha… really? Then how about you get on top of me instead?" he teased.
"WH—AHH!!" Before I could process what he meant, he suddenly flipped me over, pulling me on top of him. His arms wrapped tightly around me, trapping me against his chest, his legs tangled with mine.
The position was… way too intimate. It felt like we were a married couple.
???: "Mmm… this feels perfect now. Goodnight, my little baby… sleep tight." He said He placed a soft peck on my head and began gently patting it.
The warmth of his touch was oddly comforting. My mind kept warning me to stay away, but my body wasn't listening. Why does it feel so safe? So… sweet?
No. He's a thief. I can't trust him.
I forced myself to focus. I have to escape… maybe if I wait until he falls asleep, I can call someone… the police… anyone.
But as I listened to his steady heartbeat, my eyelids grew heavy. His warmth surrounded me, lulling me into a strange sense of security that I knew I shouldn't be feeling. My mind screamed at me to push him away, to run, to do something, but my body refused to move.
Every time I tried to shift, his grip tightened, pulling me closer as if he was afraid I would disappear. His steady breathing tickled my skin, sending a strange shiver down my spine.
I knew this was dangerous. I knew I shouldn't let my guard down. But in that moment, wrapped in his warmth, exhaustion won.
*Just for a little while…then I'll get up and run* I thought

The Next Morning
Sunlight streamed through the window, warming my skin.
I groggily opened my eyes. "Mmm—" I started to sit up, but then—
Wait.
Last night… the thief… he was here.
My breath hitched. Is he still here?! What if he's watching me right now, waiting for me to wake up… to kill me?
My heart pounded in fear. I turned my head slightly, dreading what I might see—
Nothing.
The bed beside me was empty.
I quickly scrambled up, scanning the room, my pulse racing. But… he was gone. When did he leave?
"Was I… dreaming?" I whispered.
No. That couldn't be possible. I had felt him. His warmth, his breath, his heartbeat.
A chill ran through me. He could come back.
Fear gripped my chest. My hands shook as I grabbed my phone. I need to leave. Now.
Just then, my phone rang—Emma. Thank God. I barely realized I was crying until I picked up.
Emma: "Hey, Y/N—"
"Emma! H-He came here! I… I'm scared—please help me!" I sobbed into the phone.
Emma: "Y/N, where are you? Tell me!"
"At my house!"
Emma: "Stay there, don't panic—I'm coming!" I heard her talking to someone before the call cut off.
I rushed to the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face. Calm down. Breathe.
But I couldn't. My body was shaking.
I checked the window. Locked. Good. I started throwing my things into a bag. I have to get out before something happens again.
Then—
BANG! BANG!
A loud knock at the door.
I froze. My breath caught in my throat. Is it him?!
Slowly, I walked to the door. "W-Who's there?" My voice trembled.
Emma: "Y/N! It's me!"
A shaky sigh of relief escaped me as I quickly unlocked the door.
The moment I saw Emma, I collapsed into her arms, clutching her tightly.
Emma: "Shh… it's okay, I'm here," she whispered, rubbing my back.
I pulled away, my tears still falling. "Emma, he was here, I—"
Before I could finish, a deep voice cut through the air.
???: "WHO WAS HERE?!"
Emma and I turned sharply toward the voice—
My heart dropped.
Standing there, his eyes dark with concern, was James.
"James…" I whispered, my voice barely audible.
