Chapter 268 - Meeting tenzin

*Morpheus pov*

Nepal was beautiful this time of the year if I do say so myself. From a short distance, I spotted the gigantic ICW building that seemed to pull the in-the-air magic into itself.

A frown creased my lips as I looked at the defenses, any spells that would usually hide me as well as a trusty invisibility cloak would slide off my body the second I entered the building. A cloak would be nice but unironically I don't have one of those, you'd think living as long as I one would have multiple in their storage.

I kept ruining mine, and I don't feel like ransacking the Potter Manor at this instance.

Snorting I decided to play this as I usually would, using a simple invisibility spell I cloaked myself to be unseen by the average wizard. Then I closed my eyes gently and began to walk towards the entrance.

In my mind's eyes, I saw every path I took that led to failure, every step that activated the enchantments and wards around the entrance. I kept looking and looking trying to find the small branch that led me straight through them.

My mind magic was working over time as I used it to comb through the various paths weeding out the undesirable options. Compartmentalizing the mental strain of seeing so many possible futures.

The closer of got to the entrance the more I saw and the more I realized the entrance might actually be properly warded.

A novelty.

Ten steps away now.

No answer.

Nine steps.

Still nothing.

Eight steps that seemed to stretch for eternity.

Still nothing.

Seven steps.

Okay, maybe I should turn around this seems like a dud.

Six steps.

We have a winner.

A grin split my face as I stepped carefully to the right and took two steps further then two steps to the left and five steps forward.

I was in the middle of the entrance now.

Three steps diagonally forward then one step left and four steps forward. Two steps diagonally to the left and then eight steps forward.

It was an odd dance as I walked past the wards and into the main building of the ICW. Finally, I took two steps diagonally right and passed through the wards undetected.

Wizards and witches walked in and out of the building unaware of how amazingly secure the damnable entrance really was.

Free from any delays I quickly made my way to the top of the building and toward the head of the ICW office.

When I was just a few steps from his door it opened and someone walked out I quickly made my move and slipped through the open door.

I felt my magic slide off just as the door shut, "Hello!" I greeted him not minding the awkwardness of being caught sneaking into his office

Wards on the door I should have looked further, no matter though I was going to drop my magic anyway.

"Morpheus, I see you saved me the trouble have having you hunted down," he remarked placidly

I shook his words off while taking a seat across from him, "Tenzin, you wound me. I just came to help you! After all, you don't know what you're dealing with here."

"I should have you arrested right now, though I don't think it would stick for some reason," he remarked I could see his muscles tense

The man was ready for a battle, I like him. Far better than the one before him.

"Transfiguration, conjuration, and some others work best against these creatures. Only the best wizards would have a chance with elemental spells. Curses work too especially against angels, their magic hates dark magic." I explained completely ignoring him

He nodded slowly, "Thanks for the info I suppose but, we will not help you in whatever plan you have concocted. I will not get into the crimes you have no doubt committed in the past, but I don't have to know your history to know we cannot trust you."

I spread my hands in mock shame, "The struggles of youth my friend. If you must know I did not come here to sway you into letting me hold a position of command. They will attack one of the anchors soon, it is in Egypt here I marked it on a map for you." I said tossing him a map I prepared

"What are these other marks?" he asked while studying it

"Some of the outposts I know exist, listen you may hate me, you may not trust me, but you must know humanity has to survive. And for that to happen they cannot be allowed to destroy the anchors." I remarked solemnly

"We will do it our own way without your help," Tenzin remarked his distaste for my presence evident

I shrugged, "Fine by me, I have a small group ready to defend the pyramid and I will be there as well. It's a shame we cannot expect your support, many will die."

"just out of school too," I added with a whisper

"What do you mean?" he demanded leaning forward

"Oh just the group I put together, most of them recently graduated from school. I guess this will be a really good experience for them. That's life I suppose." I replied wistfully

"Children. You are threatening me with the lives it children If I don't help. You really are a monster."

"What? No! These people have already helped during Voldemort's attempt at a takeover, I would never force them to do such a thing as fight for their people!" I remarked in anger while standing

"Just thought I should give you some information I see now this is a waste of time."

"What of the other locations?" Tenzin suddenly asked

"What do you mean?" I feigned ignorance

"The anchors, where are the other ones?"

I smiled turning to him while taking my portkey from my pouch, "Go ask your angel friends."

"Khufu." with a swirl I disappeared

*Narrator pov*

The air inside the pyramid was thick with magic, old and heavy. The Sage's Eye moved through the dimly lit chamber, setting up defenses and reinforcing wards. Some of them looked calm, focused, while others—especially the younger ones—kept glancing at the walls, as if expecting them to come alive.

Evelyn Cross flexed her fingers, adjusting her gloves. "This place feels weird," she muttered.

Gideon Marsh, crouched over a set of runes, didn't look up. "It's not weird. It's watching." He tapped his wand against the stone, sealing the enchantment.

By the map floating in the center of the chamber, Alec Dorne ran a finger over the glowing lines. "We hold the upper chambers and force them into bottlenecks. We don't have the numbers for a full fight, so we stall until help arrives."

Ishaan Varma, standing slightly apart from the group, exhaled slowly. "If help arrives," he murmured.

A tense silence followed. No one wanted to admit how bad this could get.

Outside, beyond the ancient stone walls, the desert wind howled.

And Morpheus appeared.

At the same time Khufu and Anubis appeared at the entrance, "Want to tell me why these people are setting up kill zones in my pyramid Morpheus? A letter was hardly enough to explain all of this."

Morpheus cracked a smile, "Khufu! Good to see you, my cynicle friend."

"You only found one of them Morpheus, I told you to find them all." Khufu replied bitterly

Anubis humphed, "I'm right here."

"I was busy not to worry though they will come out on their own." Morpheus replied waving him off, "Kill zones you say? They are doing good work then though hopefully we can hold them outside."

Morpheus stepped into the pyramid and cupped his mouth as if making a microphone, "WAR COUNCIL! HEAD UP!" he then turned to his companions and flashed them two thumbs up, "This is going to be a hoot."
