ARIANNE POV
"Do you even have any idea where we are going?"
"Not much farther now."
I rolled my eyes again, "You said that the last thirty times."
"Then maybe you should quit asking me repeatedly." Tag'arkh hissed at me as she marched forward.
I swallowed back whatever retort I wanted to tell her and followed after her even though I'm pretty sure neither of us have any idea where we are going. I also know she will hate to admit this but we are lost!
We've been walking and stumbling in the dark for what seems like hours. If anything we seem to be getting farther away from our destination, wherever that was.
The darkness was suffocating, pressing in on us from all sides like a heavy blanket. I could feel the panic rising in my chest as I realized that we were truly lost in this realm of shadows. But Tag'arkh, my ever-optimistic sister, refuses to admit it. She kept insisting that we would find our way out soon, that all we needed was a little more light to guide us.
