Gary remained silent, neither rejecting nor agreeing.
Time seemed to have halted between the two.
Finally, after a long while, Gary slowly spoke, "Rift, codename 'Rift'. As for the mask, anything will do."
"Alright, 'Rift' Gary," Yaxi smiled contentedly. He didn't ask Gary about the meaning of the codename because that wasn't crucial. Instead, he simply took out a silver-white full-face mask from behind him and casually tossed it to Gary.
Gary caught the mask, a high-strength metal mask. Then, with some force, he pressed his thumb onto the mask and left a crack on it.
Afterward, he put on the mask and left the training room without a word.
Behind him, Yaxi still leaned against the door with a smile on his face, watching Gary as if looking at a piece of art.
An artwork he had crafted with his own hands.
This was nothing like those Wildfires that grew rampant and spread aimlessly.
Though they were both important nonetheless.
