The pain on the left side of my breast is unbearable. It started the moment I was halfway through the spell and I simply ignored it, trying so hard to concentrate because if I stop it will ruin everything.
But why does it hurt so much? I lied to Dace that the effect would be minimal because this was a powerful spell that goes against the laws of nature, rewriting DNA when it happens under natural circumstances was like pulling a nail from the depths of an ocean. But I didn't want Dace to worry about me getting hurt because if he knew he wouldn't let me do this, I wanted to save him… I wanted to help him and this was the only way.
But why did it feel like something else was about to happen? Like I was being sunk into a pit I would slowly drown in, I slowly opened my eyes after finalizing my spell and that was when I dropped to the floor on my knees and wailed in pain gripping the left side of my chest where Dace's mark is… But it wasn't just my cry of pain.
