It's not a cell, yet there's a restraint chair.
No. 3's feet were shackled with thirty-pound chains, quite traditional and old-fashioned, but indeed effective. So even without the restraint chair, there would have been no escape for No. 3.
But No. 3 was still strapped to the chair, arms, wrists, thighs, calves, and even his waist, all tightly secured with sturdy straps.
It's a pity, just a bit more and the CIA would have slipped the fatal pill into his mouth, had it not been for the unexpected interruption by the new Director of the CIA.
It was that hesitation to take any responsibility that delayed matters. If the CIA had decided to finish it there and then instead of waiting for No. 3 to be taken away, all this trouble could have been avoided.
It would have been more comfortable in a cell indeed.
