Chapter 11 - Planning the Plan for the Plans Plan

After returning to Loft only slightly worse for wear, having accidentally scraped amongst tunnel walls for a fair bit, a lacking power source giving no real aid, Perseus dumped the Chitauri plate onto the ground, before laying down just beside it.

"Cero, do you think we could create a bubble of frozen time where I can just build myself a Zero-Pressure Quantum State Particle Reactor and not have to run around like a common thief just for a few parts?" he spoke, his hands moving towards the pressure latches on the patchwork suit he wore.

*Unlikely Professor, though Time seems more malleable considering the laws of this world, if of course, we are still taking Comic Books and Movies as the scientific standard.*

"Ughhh... yes I know Cero it isn't optimal, their entertainment value non-withstanding, but given that most of the more advanced principals are locked away in far more physical means, it makes it a little difficult to get our hands on proper documentation, let alone replicate new phenomena."

*There is… one option Proffesor*

Perseus sat up at this,"What option?"

*…I was uncertain of bringing this up or not Proffesor, but the link between you and me is most certainly related to the Arno-Particle reaction that ocurred at the lab. Given that our connection is both immeasurably faster and stronger than it was with the bio-chip that we implanted into your neck for our link originally, as well as the fact that I currently do not have a physical server or housing yet still retain all of my functionality….*

Perseus lept to his feet, "Of course! I was right! Those old fogeys could barely understand the quantum wave function, let alone correctly rule out the possibility of the observer still affecting the phenomena even when completely isolated from the subject!"

He quickly ran over to a large bench full of mechanical and electric parts, some with improvements to hammers' horrible thruster tech, some concepts for the Erebus suit.

Grabbing a notebook off the bench and flipping it open he hurriedly began scribbling away, writing down every single thing that happened leading up to the Explosion.

*My memory banks only last until just a second after the explosion Professor, shall I describe the data feedback from our current situation instead?*

"Yes yes, Cero, how fast is fast? You have faster upload and search speeds, though the ability to use me as an anchor point for data operations was already a thing, you do seem to be quite lot faster, my carb intake has also risen sharply since we got here, but even then I shouldn't be producing enough energy to sustain us both."

*My Speed is as fast as yours Professor, it is closer to me reacting to your synaptic response than it is me reacting to your questions, and yes your intake has increased, but your bodys state has also been changing, you have put on 12% more muscle than before, your bones are 2% denser and several of your organs seems to exhibit similar changes.*

"So by all intents and purposes, the only possible way for our situation to be feasible is by drawing energy from somewhere else.."

*That would be the most logical conclusion.*

By this point Perseus had filled 4 sheets of paper with detailed notes on everything that happened, Cero helping with the data he had been monitoring during the explosion.

"So, if we take your energy needs as completely fulfilled, our uplink as far more advanced and the fact your upper limit is most definitely not in the same place anymore, all coinciding with a jump in a fundamentally impossible way into a separate reality…" Perseus kept writing, "The only feasible answer is that, Arno-Particles do in fact control fundamental principles, and our attempt to create a perfect void, where we could then prove the existence of the Arno-Particle and its effect on the universe as being true, was at least somewhat successful."

*It seems so Professor, though I still struggle to see how exactly a particle that acts essential as a thought, ever came to be, I believe this is a limitation on me given my thought-proccesses are driven by logic cycles.*

"Mmm, given our circumstances, I have a growing suspicion that you might not be bound by the same rules anymore Cero, just as I seem not to be bound by them."

Taking the last few pages out of the notebook, he stuck them up on the wall. Stepping back to admire them for a moment.

"You and I, are now creatures of will. Not design, I believe we will be capable of great things in the future Cero."

*You cured two dozen diseases and established a wealthfund that single-handedly paid for the education and housing of 30 Million people Professor. I believe that your parents would disapprove of your statement.*

"Yes well there are 8 Billion people on planet Earth, and I cured 5 genetic deficits that led to several diseases, not quite the same grandeur Cero."

*To be wise is to be Humble.*

Rolling his eyes at Cero, which is essentially a voice in his head… he simply shrugged and said "Pride is folly."
