He stared at her with a clear gaze and felt it then. She was just like Zhan Yahui yet not like Zhan Yahui at the same time.
Alix smiled. "You want to ask how could a vile woman like me be back? Your brother deserved every right to get a second chance but not me. It's complicated, just like how it must have been for you to turn time back."
He said nothing.
"Nevertheless, I am here. I understand your feelings, that is why I want to assure you that I didn't return to ruin your family again. But an assurance from me…" she chuckled sardonically, "would hardly be of any use to you, isn't it?"
