Given Zhao Shu's background, envy was to be expected. Rumors were bound to circulate.
They were only aware that Zhao Shu attached great importance to this marriage and had earnestly invited them to participate. Their role was to assist in ensuring the wedding proceeded smoothly.
As for Zhao Di's family?
When they were affluent, they hadn't extended any support to their relatives. Now that their fortunes had waned, why bother? Furthermore, given Zhao Di's apparent attempt to sow discord, they were not inclined to entertain it.
Zhao Di was deserving of being sidelined, left out in the cold.
