Starting like this isn't exactly my style but I have to. Why is it that whenever I go to sleep, I am dragged into something tedious?
As usual I went home with everyone. Had dinner normally, did all my regular things and went to sleep in my apartment on earth. I still sleep here sometimes.
But now I find myself in a dark cave. I am crucified to a cross with a lot of electrode like things attached to me.
I had this kind of dream before. But those should have stopped. Why am I having a dream like that now?
I try moving my arms and hands. They don't budge. My
I have become a battery for the planet again. Aura should be my caretaker. Should I call for her?
I decided not to do it. Waiting has become a habit of mine. Let us wait for now.
I keep waiting and waiting but nothing happens. Is time passing slowly or is it just me? I feel like time is passing slowly.
I try to free myself again. The wrist clasps aren't budging. My feet are trapped as well.
"AURA!!"
I yell. But it only reverberated. No one answered and nothing happened. Am I truly alone in this cave?
Before I at least had her, now I have no one. So, this is how I will meet my end? I'd like to know how everyone is before meeting my end.
I close my eyes to contemplate my life and my choices. But the atmosphere changed so I opened my eyes to see what happened.
I am outside. It's bright so my eyes are hurting. The wind is arid and hot. It took me a while to adjust my eyes to the sun but it didn't help much.
It's white. Everything is white. The sun is blazing in the sky but the ground is white.
It's a salt desert. My eyes would be fried before I can even see. I need to cover my eyes quickly. That might help but I have nothing on me.
"Take it."
A voice told me and I see a pair of glasses in front of me. I pick it up and wear them. Life is so much better now that I can see again.
Black glasses do help with this snow white landscape.
I look for the other person. I couldn't recognize the voice. Then I find a man probably the same age as me.
He is wearing glasses as well and is looking at me like I am wasting his time.
So I get up, dust myself off and introduce myself.
"Nice to meet you! I am Clive Belmont. And who might you be?"
"Yeah, call me Serus." (Serus)
Serus? That's an odd name and I don't think I have ever heard it. Let me check. But not to my surprise, I can't access anything.
"Don't bother. Your powers don't work here." (Serus)
"You knew? Well, I was just curious about your name. So, any idea of where we are?"
"I can only say that we are trapped in my punishment." (Serus)
His punishment?
"Care to elaborate? Because I was having a dream which is probably another prophetic dream but then I ended up here."
"I died. But my death was kinda hasty and I had a lot of drawbacks. I guess I ended up trapped in this space. I don't know how you came here." (Serus)
Hmm…the plot thickens! As far as I can see, it's white and blue. The sun blazing in the sky is hot.
The salt desert, why am I here? My feet started burning. I am not wearing any shoes. My clothes are just a gown. A blue gown with nothing in it.
Serus is wearing the same stuff. He is barefoot as well.
"How about we keep walking? The ground is burning."
"That's an excellent suggestion. Wherever should we go?" (Serus)
That sounded more like a taunt. I point at a random direction and start walking. He follows and it's quiet.
"So, let's talk. There's only the two of us here. You said that you died. How exactly did you die?"
When you become a harbinger on the cusp of becoming a creator, these stuff become the norm.
"Can you tell if I am a human or not?" (Serus)
I look at him. His features are that of a human male. His age, probably the same age as me or maybe a bit older. Nothing tells me that he is not a human.
"You are a human. From your physical features that become apparent. Are you not a human on the inside?"
A human body can harbor an inhuman soul. Is that the case?
"Yes, my physical body is that of a human. However my soul, it's not a human soul. My birth was kinda complicated. Long story short, I am an artificial human who created his own soul." (Serus)
That sounds impactful. An artificial human with a self made soul, sounds interesting.
"So, you created your own soul! That's kinda hard to do. Probably even impossible. It means that you have created an impossible situation."
"Yeah. Hence I couldn't live a normal life and had to die." (Serus)
We are still walking but our conversation is flowing smoothly. If this is smooth.
"Clive, from what I know, you are a harbinger soon to become a creator, is that right?" (Serus)
"Right. I didn't know that other people knew as well. I am on my way to become the creator of my own world. Well, I am currently facing a heavy opposition but that isn't a problem."
"I also got the offer. I didn't take it. I just wanted to die. But even in death, I cannot have peace. In my 25 years of life, I have experienced almost everything. From domestic violence to extreme torture to all sorts of physical pain, I have experienced them all.
I was in a weird relationship with 4 women. It was weird. I had a few friends and a mentor who was actually my creator. I have killed plenty of people as a human. I just wanted to die however death didn't accept me.
In a desperate move, I committed suicide. And ended up here without a way out. Clive, can you please kill me?" (Serus)
His monologue was as expected. A broken man wanting death.
"Aren't you already dead?"
"My soul is still alive. I don't want death or dormancy. I want decease. I want to disappear from this system. My very existence, I want it blotted out. Can you try to kill my soul?" (Serus)
"I can try. But I can't use my powers so I can only strangle you."
"Give it a try." (Serus)
He lied down and opened showed me his throat.
I grab his throat and start squeezing it as hard as I can. I put all my strength in it and put my entire body on his chest. He can't breathe and I can see his face turning blue.
Whenever you try to kill a person, they respond in some way. He isn't resisting in any way.
He is just lying there, letting me strangle him.
I twist his throat as hard as I can. His neck bone cracked and his body gave up. I check for a pulse. He isn't alive in a sense. His heart has stopped. Just yo be on the safer side, I tear open his heart.
Ribs can be a hassle to get rid of. Human skin is surprisingly thick. But after ripping his chest apart, I can see his heart. It isn't beating.
I grab it and tear it out. Blood started gushing out. Do souls have blood? I don't know.
Let's wait for some time. Is he truly dead or will he get up?
