In an airport lounge, there sat a woman who seemed to be in her late twenties. The woman was elegantly sitting as her legs were crossed. Her aura was unapproachable despite being a beauty.
She had a shoulder length jet black hair. Her eyes were hazel and she seemed sleepy.
Suddenly her phone rang. She looked at it as she yawned. After the third ring, she picked it up. Her voice was hoarse. "Hello?"
At the other side of the call, a man replied." Miss, i can't find you. which lounge are you at?" The man was slightly panting. An evidence that he was running.
The woman was about to reply when her phone shut off. It was out of battery. She cursed as she stood up. Luckily it was not her first time in California. This place was her birth place. She knew everywhere.
She thought about taking a cab. She was exhausted since she didn't sleep for the entire time on the plane.
Immediately, she heard noises behind her and turned around. There she saw people crowding.
An old man was lying down on the floor. He seemed to be chocking due to suffocation. There was a girl who was performing First Aid.
The woman whose name was Eloise got annoyed by how the girl was carrying out the First Aid. There were people bustling around the old man, blocking the fresh air and the girl did not even care.
Eloise strode to the crowd and told the people to make way. She grabbed the girl by the shoulder. The girl turned around, annoyed by the person disturbing her.
"If you want the man to die, continue doing your CPR, which seems useless to me." Eloise said to her. Although she was exhausted, she couldn't ignore her duties as a doctor.
The girl was irritated by the tone of the woman talking to her. She wanted to argue but the people there were pressuring her to save the man.
"I thought she said she was a doctor."
"huh? you really believe her? if she is, then why is the man not awake?"
"someone call the ambulance!"
The people were gossiping and did not care about the man. There was an old lady crying there" please save my husband! who is a doctor here?" She was sobbing.
Eloise could not continue standing by and do nothing. She pushed the girl away and started saving the man. The girl argued"Hey! who are you? Are you a doctor? I'm a doctor! Let me save him!"
Eloise looked at her coldly and said " Any more minute and he will die. Save him if you can or else don't disturb me." Now that Eloise took a good look at the girl, she recognised her.
Eloise ignored the people and the blabbering of the girl who was her sister.
She delivered five separate back blows between the man's shoulder blades with the heel of her hand.
She then gave five abdominal thrusts and performed Heimlich maneuver. She alternated between five blows and five thrusts until his blockage was dislodged.
Eloise performed the First Aid perfectly that the people were astonished. In less than a minute, the old man woke up. His wife ran to him, crying.
Seeing that the man was awake, Eloise disappeared from the crowd as she spotted her secretary.
The secretary, whose name was Liam greeted her. He truly admired his boss. He came to California a few days before Eloise as he had to solve some business.
Eloise followed him outside the airport and saw a black Jaguar XF parked by the door. She went into the car totally forgetting about the man she saved and her sister.
Inside the airport, when the old man woke up, he wanted to thank his saviour but to his surprise, he was told that she disappeared. He promised to find the woman who saved his life and thank her properly.
After leaving the airport, the car stopped outside a luxurious hotel. It was a five star hotel. It was called Hotel Elite. Liam prepared a VIP presidential suite on the highest floor which was 38th floor. Only two rooms were located on the highest floor.
After entering the lobby, Liam asked some questions.
"Miss, will you visit the branch in California tomorrow?"
"No. I'll first rest. I will contact you and tell you the date. You can go back now." Eloise instructed him.
Liam was a pretty man. He had beautiful face and was masculine. He was 25 years old, two years younger than his boss. He is working for Eloise for five years now.
After being told what to do, Liam took the elevator and went back.
Eloise went into her room and closed the door. The room was had good air conditioning since it was on the highest floor. She took out her phone from the beige windbreaker she was wearing and put it in a charger.
Eloise took off her clothes and got in the tub bath to take a hot shower. She was back to the country she suffered in. She escaped from California eight years ago when she lost her child. They told her it was on accident but she knew very well it was staged, by her family members.
Eloise had to attend therapy after she escaped. Her aunt in New York helped her got through. She got pregnant at the age of 19 years old. It was a planned pregnancy but her baby was killed in her womb when it was 6 months old. The baby could not survive.
She did not have any other choice but to go to New York and start a new life. Thinking of the past, Eloise felt her heart tighten. She quickly stood up and went out the bathroom after shower. The therapy helped her and she did not cry since seven years ago. It was all in the past.
When she got back to the room, she took her phone and switched it on and saw so many missed calls. Some were from her grandmother while the others were from Liam and her aunt.
She called back her aunt to inform her about her arrival. Her main reason for coming back was because of her grandmother. Her grandmother was hospitalised. She was diagnosed with coronary heart disease and could not be cured.
Eloise's grandmother, Bella was the only one who loved her. Bella took Eloise from a village in California where she lived for 13years of her life.
When Eloise was 14 years, she was brought back to the Gray family.
When Eloise saw that no one was picking up her call, she thought that she must be sleeping since it was already nighttime.
Eloise dried her shoulder length hair and wore black tracksuit with white windbreaker. She wanted to go the restaurant in the hotel to take her supper. After locking her suite, She was about to take the elevator when she saw a face she thought she would never see in her life.
