The main courtyard of the Heaven and Earth Sect, typically a place of serene beauty, was now a scene of quiet tension.

Elders, senior disciples, and healers formed a loose circle, whispering anxiously as they watched over the mysterious woman lying on the dew-drenched grass.

The early morning light cast a golden glow across the courtyard, illuminating the woman's still form. Her presence alone seemed to bend the natural energies around her, casting faint ripples in the surrounding spiritual aura—a phenomenon that even the most experienced elders found unnerving.

As Jason entered, an unspoken silence swept over the gathering. Every disciple and elder turned to him, their reverent gazes filled with a mixture of awe and relief.

Their Sect Master, the very embodiment of the Heaven and Earth Sect's strength, had arrived. His presence seemed to soothe the agitated energies around them, grounding everyone in a palpable sense of security.

The onlookers parted instinctively, giving Jason an unobstructed path to the center of the courtyard. His footsteps were soundless, yet each one felt heavy with purpose, echoing in the hearts of those present. He moved with a calm confidence, his silver-gray robes trailing behind him like waves of starlit mist, exuding an aura so profound that the spiritual energy in the courtyard responded to his presence, calming in tandem with his every step.

Jason's gaze fell on the figure at the center of attention, and he felt his breath hitch, an inexplicable tug at the edge of his consciousness.

The woman appeared young, perhaps in her early twenties, though there was an agelessness to her beauty, a timeless quality that defied mortal years. Her long silver hair spilled over the grass, shimmering faintly even in daylight, giving her an almost ethereal glow. Her robes were simple yet imbued with mysterious symbols that seemed to shift and blend, capturing fragments of light as if they danced between the realms of life and death.

But it was her aura that seized Jason's attention with a magnetic pull. It was an aura unlike any he had encountered—a potent mixture of rebirth and decay, life and death, coexisting in perfect balance, yet in a fragile, tenuous state.

His keen spiritual sense detected the instability in her energy, like a flame flickering between two opposing winds, caught between existence and oblivion. His mind flashed with recognition, and he drew in a sharp breath. This was no ordinary woman; her energy felt deeply familiar, a signature that he could never forget.

It was the same energy that had touched him during his reincarnation, the energy of the Goddess of Life and Death herself. But this woman… this presence… it wasn't the Goddess, not directly. She was different, somehow connected, yet separate—perhaps a daughter or an emissary, bearing the Goddess's essence but carrying a distinct identity of her own.

The realization settled over him like a heavy mantle, sending a ripple of astonishment through his otherwise composed demeanor.

Elder Ling, the sect's venerable healer, approached, bowing deeply before speaking.

"Sect Master," he said gravely, "We have attempted to stabilize her condition, but… it's as though her life force is being pulled in two opposing directions. Our techniques, even our most sacred incantations, have had little effect."

Jason's gaze remained locked on the mysterious woman. Kneeling beside her, he extended his hand, his spiritual sense reaching out to probe the chaotic energies swirling within her.

Waves of conflicting energy surged, struggling to find equilibrium, each one challenging the other in a constant push and pull. It was almost as if she were embodying two forces, fighting for control over her very existence.

"She's in a state of profound imbalance," He murmured, more to himself than to anyone around. "Caught between life and death... Who could have hurt her with such means?"

He turned to Elder Ling, his voice calm yet carrying an undeniable urgency. "Gather our most skilled physicians and spiritual healers immediately. Bring every resource we possess—sacred herbs, talismans, everything that could stabilize her essence. We cannot allow her to succumb to this."

Elder Ling bowed again and departed with swift purpose, leaving Jason to continue his careful examination.

The woman's face, serene in appearance, betrayed subtle lines of strain, as though her spirit were locked in an unending battle.

Jason wondered what trials she had endured to end up here, and what force had brought her to his doorstep, bypassing the very laws he himself had woven into the sect's barriers. Her presence bore the weight of something monumental, a significance that seemed to extend beyond mere coincidence.

As the healers assembled and began their incantations, Jason remained at her side, the questions swirling in his mind unanswered yet unyielding. If she was indeed connected to the Goddess of Life and Death, her arrival was not a mere accident—it was an omen, a call to face forces as ancient and vast as the universe itself.

And whatever conflict or fate had brought her to him, Jason knew that his life, and perhaps the very balance of his world, was about to change irrevocably.

The atmosphere in the courtyard thickened with anticipation as the healers chanted, their voices weaving together in a tapestry of incantations. Sacred talismans glowed softly in their hands, and fragrant wisps of incense rose into the air, mixing with the early morning mist.

Jason remained beside the unconscious woman, his gaze intense as he monitored the flow of energy around her, carefully watching for any sign of change. His senses were attuned to even the faintest fluctuation in her aura, ready to act should anything threaten her fragile state.

Suddenly, a pulse of energy rippled outward from her body, sending an almost imperceptible shiver through the ground beneath them.

The healers paused, exchanging wary glances.

Jason raised his hand, signaling them to continue their work but with caution. He leaned closer, his silver eyes narrowing as he sensed an imminent shift in the woman's condition.

Her aura, once erratic and turbulent, began to settle ever so slightly, the violent clash of energies easing into a tenuous balance. Then, just as suddenly, her eyelids fluttered, and her lips parted, murmuring something so faint it was nearly inaudible.

Jason leaned in, his heartbeat quickening as he strained to catch her words. Her voice was soft, barely a whisper, yet it carried an ancient weight, each syllable charged with a haunting sorrow that seemed to echo from realms beyond.

"Mother… No!..." she whispered, her words fragile but laced with an eerie clarity. "Mother... I cannot..."

The weight of her words struck Jason like a physical force, resonating deep within him.

'Mother?'

These weren't just idle mutterings.

'Did something happen to that Goddess? But that means...'

Jason's mind raced, piecing together the implications. If this woman was connected to the Goddess of Life and Death, her arrival in such a dire state suggested something catastrophic was on the horizon, something that could destabilize the very fabric of reality.

He looked at her face, noting the flicker of pain that passed over her delicate features even in her unconscious state. She bore an aura of dignity and sorrow as if she were a vessel carrying a burden far greater than herself.
