Asad got out of the bathroom expecting to see his wife but she was nowhere in sight. He caught a glimpse of a paper lazily lying on their bed, he took the paper and read the contents "Meet me at the balcony upstairs, I have a surprise gift for you. ;-) Balira'
Asad smiled, he put his clothes on and proceeded to the balcony. He arrived and saw Balira sitting at a table meant for two, she turned around and saw Asad "Hey hey, I've prepared a special dinner, and Maybe we can get to know each other better and try not to have any misunderstandings between us" Balira said with a smile. Asad then took a seat his gaze not leaving hers "Well then let's know each other" He said calmly. Balira cleared her throat "Alright let's start with you then" she encouraged. Asad sighed and started his story...
20 years ago, Asad had just turned 7 when Hamida was born. He had already been abused by his father twice, the little boy lived in constant fear of his father's wrath. He was always hiding away from his father's evil claws. Then the day came when his father had a change of heart or so he thought, his father became soft after the birth of Hamida.
Hamida seemed to have been the light that shone in Asad's darkness, the oxygen Asad needed to breathe. But it seemed it was all a dream because as Hamida turned two, Asad's father remembered him. He would always beat and abuse Asad any chance he got.
"Asad get your sorry ass down here" Mr Malik yelled, " yes baba? Asad rushed downstairs and as soon as he saw the paper in his hand, Asad knelt at his father's feet. Mr. Malik stared down at him "How dare you to get a B in your report card" he hissed at his son harshly. " My apologies Baba, I'm so sorry, that subject is art and I'm bad at it" he admitted but his father didn't want to hear any of it.
He locked him up and beat the living daylight out of Asad. Asad's mother just cried for her son because there was nothing she could do. Suddenly young Hamida approached her mom and asked "What's Baba doing to big brother" She was only two and a half but she could talk clearly. Mrs Malik cried and took her daughter away from the scene...
Ten years later, at 19 after so much abuse from his father, Asad finally wanted to go to college and breathe in fresh air but it seemed as though his nightmare would continue.
Asad's father had dropped a document for Asad to sign agreeing to be the heir to the Malik empire, there were no objections when it came to his father so instead, Asad decided to run away.
Asad had already gathered his things ready to leave the place not knowing his mother was planning the same, apparently, he wasn't the only one his father was abusing.
Severally he had attacked his wife but he never laid a finger on his precious daughter.
Asad and his mother bumped into each other at the back entrance of the house, "Mom? What are you doing with a backpack" his mom just signaled him to stay shut or else they would be in serious trouble. Just as they successfully left the house, Mr Malik grabbed Asad by the leg and pulled him back.
Mrs. Malik wanted to save her son but Asad yelled "Mom, run away, don't bother he won't kill me save yourself" Mrs. Malik left reluctantly and left Asad his father.
"How dare you run away from the great Abdul Malik" he then removed his belt to whip Asad but to his surprise, Asad caught the whip. He looked at his father
with tears in his eyes as he spoke "I wish you were a better father" Mr. Malik looked him in his eyes as sadness flashed but it quickly disappeared. he sighed then dropped his belt and turned around. But then he paused and said "Be careful what you ask for, I could be the best dad in the world but.... he trailed off . he sighed again and then said "Go with your mother I'll take care of Hamida" then left Asad.....
