"Shit." Markos softly cursed as the ground rumbled beneath them. The golden light outlining the door on the western wall receded into shadow once more.
"Not so simple after all," Iliana whispered as she backed away from the creeping energy. She raised a trembling hand, readied to conjure a shield if needed.
"It was worth a shot," Caelyn gruffly commented.
Vladimars sighed, running his hand through his hand in exasperation. "The chamber guardian wants something more. You saw how it responded to our reasoning. And they asked for a piece of truth. It's not as if we're far from the answers it wants. We just haven't presented it in the manner it wants."
