At night, in Violet's tent, Roland, exhausted from a day's labor, is sleepless and fondly wiping the newly received equipment. Gazing upon the dragon scale-like pattern on the longsword, Roland understands why it's called "Dragon Pattern Steel Core."
The weapon, composed of layers with varying hardness and toughness, and incorporating an incredibly hard steel core, is, according to Master Durken, just ordinary stuff: "This is just the run-of-the-mill equipment; I'll forge you something better soon."
Unable to help himself, Roland retorts, "This is ordinary? Just how good are the better ones?"
One of Roland's men, also polishing armor, responds, "I've asked Big Mouth Dragon Lord Nage, and it said Dragon Pattern Steel Core is just the foundation. You can add Mithril Magic Patterns, Soil Forge Burn, Gem Enhancement, Piercing Enchantment, Gravity Strengthening, Magnetic Modification, Primordial Crystal Plating, and so on."
