Wang Jingyuan spoke over her shoulder. "Miss Xie, stay near me at all times. If you're scared, close your eyes."
Xie Yixiang didn't get to respond before five different blades converged on Wang Jingyuan. Metallic clangs filled the air as Wang Jingyuan blocked all of them. Xie Yixiang squatted down and squeezed her eyes shut, making herself as small as possible. She could feel the air of the blades crossing and Wang Jingyuan's movement all around her. She had never been so afraid.
Wang Jingyuan did not have even a split moment to rest. No sooner had she blocked one attack did another come flying towards her. Not to mention, she had to keep an eye on Xie Yixiang and made sure none of the masked men kidnapped Xie Yixiang while her back was turned. And they kept trying to. A few would attack Wang Jingyuan at the same time to keep her occupied while the others would lunge for Xie Yixiang. That meant Wang Jingyuan had to be faster than she normally was to defend herself and Xie Yixiang.
