The Man with the Sunglasses:
I have seen everything.
I have been everywhere. I have walked from one end of the world to the other many, many, many times. I have been to Themyscira and have fought against and with the fearsome Amazons. I have dived into the deeper parts of the seven seas and found Atlantis, where I was once king. I have even been to the Tower of Fate, where I have walked the many magical different stairs. It is not just places I have been to.
I have been to every time too. I have lived for millions of years. I remember sailing across the Greek seas and fighting in the Peloponnesian War beside a dear companion and an eagle. I remember watching as Caesar fell to the ground after being stabbed repeatedly in ancient Egypt. I even remember almost dying in the forest and then being saved by the Mohawk people. I fought for them in the American Revolution, only to learn all my efforts were for nothing. I have been everywhere. I have seen every time. During my endless travels, I have also met many people.
I have met so many people during my travels. I have loved many people and lost countless. I have hated a lot of them too. They were cruel people. They made other innocent people's lives miserable. They have hurt them for greed or for pleasure. They bankrupted them, assaulted them, or even murdered them. Despite these people through, I have also met some of the best people ever. People, who are so selfless, that they would risk life and limbs to save the innocent. In my most recent travel, I stumbled upon some old friends in need. Some people who would risk life and limbs to save others now need to save themselves. The first person was Kara Zor-El or Supergirl.
Imprisoned by her cousin, Kal-El, or Superman, I disguised myself as a prison guard and learned the routes and times of regimes and soldiers. Once the time was right, I broke Supergirl out, and together, we worked to rebuild the Insurgency. It wasn't easy, and more than once, I was called into question, but in the end, I feel like I earned at least enough trust for the Insurgent members to know I was on their side. However, the same could not be said for the Green Lantern Corp.
We received a distress call from the Green Lantern Corps telling us that they needed our help. We wasted no time and took my ship, the Rusted, to the planet Oa to aid them. However, when they saw Supergirl, they were very hesitant and even attacked us. Despite all of this, we did what we could to help them but Oa, along with many green lanterns were lost. We had failed, and now, a new threat had emerged.
Apparently, the Lords of Order have had enough of me. They tried to assassinate me in many ways. By recruiting magic users and by bestowing their powers onto Raven. When it wasn't enough, they attempted to destroy the world by unleashing Trigon. That's when I lost it. I lost control and became...something else. If it wasn't for Supergirl and Cyborg, I may have done something I'd have regretted. Something I don't regret was asking some old friends for help to defeat and trap Trigon. Cyborg and I lost Raven, a very dear friend, despite being a regime, but we saved the people of Jump City. Now, I'm waiting to see what's next.
I have been everywhere and I have been at every time. I have walked from one of the world to the other. I have fought in every war in history. I have loved many people but also lost so many more.
I have seen people born, live their lives, and die while I was right there. I have seen the very best of people, but I have also seen the very worst. I have created cities and kingdoms and destroyed planets and galaxies. I have saved many lives but also ended many more. I am no hero. I am no villain. I am just a man with sunglasses.
