When the doctor said with some concern in his voice, "Now let me see your foot?"
Diandra lift her foot, watching as he examines it then she stood up as he asks. "I see your foot don't have any limp?"
"Not now!"
"There was a limp?"
"Yes, just a slight one, but my sister does massage therapy and she fix the limp."
Diandra notices his smile, wondering, 'What he was thinking?' When he said, "Thank God, you had me worried for a bit. When I saw you at the Longfield General Hospital, I was concerned."
Diandra wanted to know when did he see her, was he the one who inform Alex about her pregnancy? But then she recalled he said his doctor told him.
When Alex opens the door, she had to keep a still tongue hoping the doctor will also do the same.
Seeing his concern when he ask, "Tell me Doc, what is the matter with her?"
When the doctor responds, "She is fine and your baby is doing okay."
Hearing Alex saying, "Thank you Jesus and thanks Dr. Ferguson, overhearing you being concern I thought something was wrong."
"Alex, you will have to bring her in for I to do some test on Wednesday."
"Then I will be there with her."
"Alex, if Christina was here, she would be the happiest grandmother in the world."
"I know just look at him." Diandra listen to him as he sound so happy and proud of Joash.
"Who?"
"My son, that's who I am talking about Doc."
"Alex, we don't know what she is having, the baby could be a boy or a girl?"
Dr. Ferguson heard Diandra laughing then she said. "Doc, Alex is speaking about our son in the next room."
"You have a son?" Diandra see his surprise as he hurried to see Joash.
Hearing her saying, "Doc he is three years."
"Then let me bless my eyes with this precious gift." Looking at him how he stood and keep glaring at Joash sleep, then he shakes Alex hand, "I thought these will be the first."
Diandra bends her head and mummer, "Good Lord, this man will expose me, and reveal my secret."
Calling out to Alex, before he opens his big mouth. "Yes honey."
Saying, "Alex, he wakes up very easily and Doc, will, you write a prescription for me please. These days I feel tired so easily, and only wants to sleep."
Watching as he writes the prescription, then he said, "Get this for her and I will see you two Wednesday."
Diandra waited for them to leave the room then she went and stood by the window watching as the doctor leaves. When Alex came indoors then the company van drives away.
Diandra was eating when Alex enters the room, seeing him came and sit next to her then reach across and kiss her lips.
Hearing him saying, "I love you and thank you so very much, you makes me so happy and proud."
"What is that for?"
"So, I can't tell you how much I love you?"
"Yes, you can, but I am sure there is a reason for saying thanks?"
"Well yes, you give me a son and I can't wait for you to have this baby." Diandra looks at him wandering if the doctor said anything.
Giving him the glass saying, "Will you just rinse this and bring me a glass of water please, and Alex we need to talk?"
Alex knew from the way she said that it was something serious. Could it be she is still scared of him especially the way he had raise his voice earlier, maybe that is why she wanted to speak to him?
He knows his behavior earlier was not appropriate in her condition. and if she had fallen and hurt herself it would have been his fault.
Placing the glass of water in her hand, Alex then sits next to her. Seeing she was comfortable he said.
"Honey, I am sorry I raise my voice to you, but sometimes you do some crazy things, that scare me half to death. Do you have any idea how much I love you?"
Seeing she just looks at him then said, "Never mind that, there will always be misunderstanding."
When she was going to speak, Alex said, "Before you say anything answer me this? Which one of my Sergeant you were speaking with earlier?"
"The second in command."
"Sergeant Holmes?"
"Yes!"
"But Melissa said you didn't call the office?"
"I did not call your office, I made the call to his cell. You already know that the house is being watch?"
"I suspected that when I overheard your conversation, honey I heard you say again. Where you aware that the house was being watch on Wednesday evening?"
"Yes, when I saw the two men, I called your Sergeant to let him know, and to set men on patrol at the both entrances, together with the police."
"So, when I told you to come to bed?"
"I was just waving to the officers who help the police captured the watchers."
"Did you pass on the information to the police about the BMW?"
"Yes, what is the matter did they caught the driver of the BMW?"
Seeing the worried frown on his face, hearing him saying, "Sweetheart, now listen to me, this is very dangerous work and you are no crime fighter or detective?
If something were to happens to you, I don't think I will have the strength to move forward."
"Look if someone is targeting your life, then my child and my life is also at risk, and we could be target as well.
Alex who knows what these people are thinking and their intentions are, look at what has happen when the invader enter the house, it could have been worse if I didn't see him on time."
"Honey, so why didn't you tell me when you see them Wednesday?"
"Alex, I had observed the fear in your eyes, and knew that you were worried about us. I said nothing to you because you thought by not telling me, you was protecting me.
I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to do something stupid and put yourself in trouble.
So I just observed and keep reporting to your Sergeant, who in turn was doing the same with the police."
