When Gretta eats half of the cake she leans back, seeing it was almost half an hour. Diandra said, "Sir, we should be returning."
Buckling up Gretta, Diandra, then sit next to her, "Are you happy now princess?"
"Happy!" "Now Aunty wants you to be a good girl for her."
"Me, good girl."
"Yes, you are." Carl said, "You get her to speak so clearly." "Thanks!" "Papa!"
"Yes, angel."
"Ride!"
"Yes, honey we are going to meet your Daddy." "Daddy cake?" "You get your Daddy a cake?" "No, mummy."
Hearing Shawney laugh, Carl looks at the review mirror, only to see her wipe the tears. Unable to figure out, 'If it was tears of joy, or of sadness.
Glimpsing in his dad's direction, he was also brushing the tears away. 'They were quite lost in their thoughts.'
Returning his gaze to the review mirror, Carl see Gretta was asleep.
At the clinic, Shawney just open the door and step out saying, "Thanks Sir, for the snack, and Carl it was good seeing you again, Sir, it has a cake for Tray in that bag."
Seeing her take one bag with a cake and ice cream and went, sitting on the bench. "Dad, I know you have high hope for both of them.
So please, be prepared just in case Shawney decides to go on the road."
"I know Son, but I can hope; can't I?"
Seeing Torren walk out the door then went and sit next to her. "Dad, look at them both, she makes him feel special.
Talking about special; I should get Careen a dress for tomorrow."
"Son, that child is not expecting you to come home, so I am sure she already gets herself one."
"I suppose you are right, but I should at lease get her a gift."
"I am in no hurry, so why don't you check around while we wait on Torren."
"You don't mind?" "Son, when my children are happy, I am happy, look at them, they are not busy, so go on."
"You are right." Watching him go then look at Torren as he eats the cake and ice cream. "Lord if only you could help them to see that they are meant for each other, but I must be patient." *****
Torren holds Shawney hand, "Shawney, why can't you come with me?"
Stroking his hand, "I will come tomorrow, I promise you. Try to understand, Aunty Paula needs my help, and the family is returning home Thursday afternoon after lunch.
Torren, if I go with you now; what will the family say? You already heard how Aunty Joan was speaking, so please try to understand.
I am just so glad I see you today, I hope you know I miss you a lot, and look Carl is back."
Standing up, still holding his hand, we walk to the van, "I will see you all tomorrow."
After Torren was seated Shawney said, "Torren, that bag is for Tray, and give him my love," then she waves and walks away.
Torren look at her go, feeling his heart hurting, missing her already.
Pondering in his heart. 'Did she meant what she said? Because, I misses her a lot myself.'
Closing his eyes as we drives home, 'Oh Lord, if I proposes to her, will she accept?' *****
Rising early, Shawney fix everyone their breakfast, hoping to leave early, but few times Shawney notices how Aunty Joan keep peeping through the door.
Wondering what she was up to, when Aunty Paula enters the kitchen, "Honey, we plan to go on the beach today."
"You all go ahead Aunty, I already made my plan."
"Honey, today is your family last day, tomorrow they are returning, please come with us."
"Aunty, I already made my plans, I don't like breaking them."
"Child, I need you with me, all of them will drive me crazy."
"Aunty please."
"Look, I know you made a plan to go early by Mr. Mac Carty, but I promise we will return on time for you to reach early." Feeling so weak the way she keeps begging, I give in, half eleven all was seated in Mitch bus, only Mitch wasn't around.
"Paula isn't there anyone to drive this bus?" Joan keep nagging with her foolish questions.
"Robert, where is Mitch, they are all restless, and I am getting a headache?"
"Honey, he took my car this morning, I don't know what is keeping him."
"Didn't he say where he was going?" Paula asks.
"I don't think so," Robert replies.
"Didn't you tell him we will be going to the beach?" Paula asks anxiously.
"No, I thought he knew, wasn't he there last night when they were planning this lime?" Robert inquired.
"I can't say," Paula responds.
Shawney, listening to the conversation between Aunt Paula and Uncle Robert and seeing the time going quickly.
Unable to stand hearing them grumbling, Shawney, get out of the bus and went into the house, then return and sit behind the wheel.
Noticing Uncle Robert looking at her, "Honey can you drive this bus?"
"Just give me direction to the nearest beach and when it is three-o-clock, we will be returning."
"Honey, please you cannot drive this bus."
"If you all know Mitch was the only one to drive the bus, why did you send him on an errand?"
Hearing them complaining, seeing the road clear, Shawney slams her foot on the brakes, then turn and look at them.
"Now, I don't want to hear another word out of anyone of you, all of you wanted to go on the beach, so we are going." Shawney snapped then continues to drive.
Watching how she handle the steering wheel with such confidence. Robert, whisper to her,
"They didn't know you could drive, you are very smart."
"That what you feel Uncle, but Aunty Joan, knew that I have my heavy T license. That is why she conspired this to keep me back."
One hour later Shawney was parking up on the beach, Saying to everyone in the bus, "You all knew I had plans, and you also knows how I hate to break them.
So by three-o-clock everyone must be dress and on the bus, or I will be leaving without you."
"You are kidding, right?" Joan laughs as she steps out of the bus.
"No, Aunty, I am not, and I am asking you to don't put me to the test?"
Hearing her saying, "I come here to have fun and that's what I am going to do."
"Honey, you don't worry that pretty head of yours, as long as I am on the bus, we can go." "Dad, why do you encourage her," Julien snorted out.
"I am not, I just don't want to be left behind, is that too hard for you to understand?" Ken responds.
