Chapter 2 - 2) Food

The light at the end of the corridor hadn't changed and Chin-hae was unable to tell how long he had been asleep.

'The smell... i haven't gotten used too.. and my arms hurt..it's cold..i'm hungry... the floor is hard.. i'm tired..' He lay there for what seemed like hours, he had always been busy before, with the company and all those greedy relatives.

'I wonder if my death was planned... at least i'm sure they'll be awfully happy when they find out i'm dead.. i wonder what they'll do? Will they pretend to cry? Will they try to fake a will? I bet.. they will be mad when they find i've put none of them in my will..' A shallow smile set into his face his gaze cold and desolate.

Before Chin-hae's death he had written in his will that his company and stocks would be passed onto his friend who he had successfully hidden from his relatives, it was a childhood friend whom he had spent most of his life with. After he was sent away to the orphanage he didn't see him until he entered the business circle and the two of them collaborated, in his will he had wanted for the 2 company's to merge, it had actually been the plan that they had set up before he died and so he was never able to see it put into motion. 'Ah... i wonder if he was sad that i died?Perhaps he missed the fact that i was no longer there?..'

The other property he owned would be sold and the money would be sent to the company, and his friend. The one thing that he could trust in that world was his friend.

While there freindship didn't really touch too much on the emotional level they were able to communicate with each other with there eyes.

They each understood the other very well and that made the trust they had in each other very high. Perhaps he wouldn't cry but maybe he would miss someone who he could trust and who could understand him. Before he realized it he was once agin asleep. This time there was no dream ,no memory ,only emptiness, silence. His silence was broken b y the sound of heavy footsteps and a loud voice.

" Get UP you bitchs!"

'Ah, it seems the fat man is back... i wonder if he will bring us food, will i starve? Hmm i'd rather not..'

Chin-hae watched as the fat man went to each cell and chucked something inside from the cary he was pulling. When the man tossed the thing in his direction he reached out to catch it only for his hand to be pulled back hard by the restraints.

Curseing in his head he swiveled his body into a half up position and used his leg to drag the item over. When he finally saw what it was he was surprised. It was a round ball like shape and had a star leef on top with a stem growing out of it. The fruit like food had many bruises and a odd smell, it was not something that should be eaten. Probably picked up from the trash. But, to survive Chin-hae needed to eat. This was the question. Should he just let himself starve to death just to get it over with? He had died before there was no need to go through all this suffering again.

' With the position i am in who know when or who i will be sold too, this is a very bad situation, would i still want to suffer even after my death?' A sharp digging in his stomach pulled him from his dark thoughts. It made him clutch his stomach, it was a feeling he hadn't felt since he left the orphanage, hunger.

When he was living in his house before the orphanage he would steal food from the fridge and blame it on the rats that lived in the apartment but when he entered the orphanage the children always fought for there food, never hesitating to point the blame at someone else of food went missing. Of course this applied to him as well. Chin-hae took another look at the apple like food and bit into it.

After tasting the mushy food he found it tasted like wet applesauce, not the worst he had had to eat. With a bit more energy than before he looked around him again, this time his body was much more awake and he was able to look at what he looked like.

The body he was in had some muscle but because of lack of food the muscles were very lean leaving his body with no fat whatsoever. His ribs were easily able to be counted. With the dim lighting he had to strain his eyes to see the scars that covered his body. Such a small body... his thoughts wandered to what he had seen in his dreams last night. It seemed that that mud shack and that man and woman were his father and mother here...

The scars were small and with further inspection were only in places that clothing would cover. Whoever made them had been ruthless and precise. They were in places like his inner thighs and his back. From what he could tell using his hand his back had a large variety of scars, his wrists were chafted and he could see the cuts that the stone weights left on his wrists. Luckily they weren't deep so they wouldn't scar, not that Chin-hae would mind.

His previous body had been 31 years old and was covered collarbone to knee in scars both small and big, from being beaten up to abuse. He found theses scars comforting in a way, it felt a little less odd being in another body. From how much he had been staved it wouldn't be a surprise if his growth was stunted, after all the fat man called his young.

Chin-hae has a suspicion though that the body he was in was actually 18 years old. From those scenes he had seen in his dream he had lived for a while but the original body owner didn't know his birthday or how old he was, he also doubted that the original knew how to write or read.

He had picked up the change in season while he was dreaming about the body's memory's and deduced that the body was some ware around 18 years old. He decided that his birthday would be in winter, the cold season only because he had yet to see it this year. The memories had stoped at drought season, or summer in other words, which ment he had probably been in here for fall and maybe even winter? After seeing the red heads thick cloak from yesterday, it would make sense that it was winter, but because they were underground it was warmer.
