Huo Yanzhao smiled and nodded at Mrs. Wu, then carried his bag upstairs.
He pushed open the bedroom door and gently entered.
In a corner of the room, Yun Xuefei was sprawled across the table, working on a design drawing. Her brow was slightly furrowed, her pale lips tightly pressed together, her expression intensely serious.
A hint of pain flashed through Huo Yanzhao's heart.
But he quickly suppressed that feeling and smilingly said, "Xuefei."
Upon hearing his voice, she turned her head to look at him, her expression still somewhat bewildered.
Huo Yanzhao was used to her gentle yet decisive demeanor, but it was rare to see such a childish side of her that tugged at his heartstrings.
As Huo Yanzhao walked closer, he lifted the bag in his hand to show her, "Today, while at the hospital, I overheard two new nurses chatting about a newly opened dessert shop nearby that's supposed to be very good. So, I bought your favorite chocolate lava cake. Let's try it."
