After destroying the base they finally were done with the mission, And they were back at the base telling Jahol that there were no signs of demon beasts.
"So they weren't there. Not even tracks. This probably isn't good. They are definitely up to something. We can't just rush into this one. We don't know what they are planning." Jahol was deep in thought.
"Jahol, as much as I hate to say this, We can't wait for them to finish whatever they are doing. You need to send a team out to find a base that if we took it over would hurt them a lot." Toyomo explained.
"Yeah, your right. I'll get a team and send them out. For now, you all get some rest. It seems like things are about to kick up."
"Right!"
Meanwhile demons base on the outskirts of hell.
"Those Elf scum tried to compromise what we are doing and failed." Meghana was the name of the demon lord that spoke.
"How about we show them the power they tried to push down into the depths! Even the gods won't be safe!" Meghana sat on a throne In his castle.
"The demon beast weapons will be done soon. HAHAHA!" His evil laugh filled the room.
Back at The Lost forest...
"Holy shit!" Toyomo jumped.
"What is it!?" Eddy got ready to fight.
"I don't know but I just got a chill down my spine...We better get stronger quickly!" Toyomo sat down and started Practicing how to use Kin.
"The feeling was that bad to make you start training right away? I guess we all better get to it then." Eddy walked away.
1 month later...
"I'm kinda hungry yall wanna get something to eat?"Eddy asked the group.
"Yeah we ca-" Toyomo stopped in the middle of his sentence as a feeling of huge amounts of killer intent hit him.
"Shit! THE DEMONS ARE HERE!" Toyomo yelled loud enough to make sure everybody heard him.
Jahol heard Toyomo and sprinted out of his shack to Toyomo.
"How many!?" Jahol asked.
"...A shit ton." Toyomo pulled out his scythe.
"Damn...ALL SOLDIERS PREPARE FOR BATTLE!" Chad pulled out his sword.
Demon beasts 200 of them were heading to the lost forest!
"I'm heading to the front lines! Anna, Eddy, You 2 stay here and help with snipes and barriers! Mizude, Earza, Chad, You're with me!" Toyomo spoke as a commander underpressure.
"Right!"
A huge group of 50 followed Toyomo to the front lines.
And what they saw was not good. Demon beasts! All of them at least rank 6-A in rank! Heading straight for the Lost forest!
"Shit this is bad! FIRE AS MANY LONG RANGE SHOTS AS YOU CAN BEFORE THEY GET HERE!" Toyomo yelled to the army.
They all started firing everything they had taken out only 25! After a minute the demon beats were almost at close combat range!
"Damn it! FOUCE THE REST OF YOUR ENERGY ON MAKING A BARRIER! WE JUST GOT TO HOLD UNTIL JAHOL IS DONE SETTING UP HIS NEW WEAPON!" Toyomo Commanded. "Looks like we're about to have a good battle." Toyomo said getting ready to fight as over 150 demon beasts rushed at them.
"Seems so." Chad pulled out the long sword on his back.
"As long as we live, we don't die," Mizude said.
"No, shit." Toyomo responded.
Meanwhile back in the lost forest.
"Set it up right here!" Jahol made a giant mortar that ran on Iracuj.
"I'm going to need help charging this thing up!"
Meanwhile on the battlefield...
"AAAGH!" Chad chopped one of the demon beasts in half while Mizude fought right beside him to make up for his slow movements.
Earza and Toyomo were going in! Toyomo ran in and flipped and chopped a demon in half and Earza jumped through the body and cut off another demon beast's head! Then she rolled and when she did Toyomo jumped over her and chopped 4 demon beasts in half! Toyomo and Earza started running through as many as they could side by side.
"Shit! This is getting overwhelming!" Chad said slicing one in half.
Meanwhile at the base!
"IT'S READY TO FIRE! TELL THE PEOPLE ON THE FRONT LINE TO GET INSIDE THE FOREST!" Jahol yelled over the huge amount of Iracuj that was swelling In the mortar.
A few minutes later!
"RETREAT INTO THE FOREST!" They all rushed into the forest and some people didn't make it.
Then as they ran into the forest a barrier was placed around the whole forest besides the sky and a few demon beats got in! Toyomo dealt with them as quickly as possible.
"Everybody get down!!" Toyomo yelled.
"FIRING THE WEAPON!!!" Jahol yelled as a huge bull of concentrated Iracuj flew into the sky and over everybody's head! It was like everything went silent. Then as the Iracuj struck the ground a huge explosion happened...One that could level 2 Mount Everest's.
"Holy shit!" Eddy said as it felt like the plant was shaking.
Then they all started to fall as and they floated into the air then smacked the ground again!
What everybody saw at the end of the explosion on the front lines was breathtaking...Everything besides everything that was in the barrier was completely vaporized. And the reason why they felt like they were falling...was because they were. The ground that wasn't in the barrier got completely vaporized as well.
Then the barrier shattered from the force it took...nobody was killed from the fall but some were injured. Children and such.
"That's a lot of damage..." Toyomo sat there and just looked at the damage.
"Hell yeah, it is." Chad stood next to him.
"Looks like we on thou-" Chad was cut off by something horrible.
A spear had gone straight through his stomach...Chad looked down slowly and realized what just happened. Then the spare came shooting out of him back to a red spot that was manifesting.
"SHIT! EVERYBODY PUT UP A BARRIER!" Toyomo said as he caught Chad's body and put up a barrier around him.
"SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!!" Toyomo held Chad in his arms.
"Looks like...I got hit." Chad said cracking a smile.
"I need to get you to a doctor!" Toyomo said.
"No there's no time for that...That thing looks like it will be done manifesting soon." Chad tried to keep a smile.
"Damnit!" The rain started to fall.
"Toyomo...I don't have much time left. I need to tell you something...I asked her to be my wife...And she said yes...It sucks that she'll be without me before she's even married fully to me. And can you tell Matty something for me? Tell her I'm sorry for not making it back home..." Chad started coughing up blood.
"And also...I couldn't become a teacher...I started teaching the kids of the lost forest about the outside world...Could you tell them goodbye for me?" Chad's breaths got slower and slower.
"Yeah...no problem." Tears started coming down Toyomo's face.
"And one more thing...Don't let that thing get to the village, please..."
"I already planned on it." Toyomo started wiping his tears.
"So this is how I die hu? Such a bad way to go out...But I guess I can't change it. At least I died with a friend by my side...and not alone on the battlefield...goodbye everybody" Those were Chad's final thoughts then he took his last breath and his body went limp.
Toyomo laid Chad's body down gently and picked up Chad's sword.
"YOUR GOING DOWN BITCH!!" Toyomo's eye changed to the color the day his family was killed! but his hair did not change this time.
"Everybody, stay back," Toyomo said as he started walking toward the demon beast that finally manifested. It was a Minotaur with no horns.
"You ready to do this bitch." Toyomo cracked his neck.
The Minotaur blew steam out of its nose.
The amount of power coming off both of Toyomo and the Minotaur separately was unmatched by everybody in the village combined.
Toyomo rushed at the Minotaur and tried to chop him down the middle, The Minotaur had to use both hands while blocking with the spare to stop the attack. The Minotaur pushed Toyomo back and rushed at him! It tried to drive his spear through his chest but Toyomo jumped over it and sliced off the Minotaurs arm! The Minotaur grabbed Toyomo by the foot while he was still in the air and slammed him against the ground and cracked it. Then he threw Toyomo into the air and The Minotaurs spear float to his available arm and he threw it at Toyomo! Toyomo managed to deflect it so it didn't hit any kill spots but it went right through his shoulder! Toyomo didn't even flinch at it though he just kept focused. Toyomo stuck out his hand and shot lightning down at the Minotaurs, The Minotaur dodged it all! Then the Minotaur reached out his hand and The Spear came directly to Toyomo! Toyomo healed a little bit of his shoulder and he used it to pull out his scythe and blocked the spear and used it to go straight at the Minotaur! Toyomo cocked back and used every ounce of straight to throw Chad's sword straight at the Minotaur! and At that moment Toyomo saw Something guide the sword...It looked like Chad.
"GO CHAD!!" And as Toyomo said that Chad's sword went straight inside the Minotaur's stomach. And Toyomo shot a bit of wind Iracuj to move out of the way of the spear and the spear flew directly into the Minotaurs chest! Then Toyomo came down.
"AAAHG!!" And used his Scythe to chop off the Minotaur's head. And blood came soring out and covered Toyomo.
Then Toyomo pulled out Chad's sword and just looked at the sky as the rain fell down. Jahol, Eddy, and Anna rushed to see if everybody was alright. Then they saw Chad's dead body.
Then they saw Toyomo standing there with Chad's sword and a headless Minotaur.
"Toyomo!" Anna was about to rush over to Toyomo, Eddy quickly jumped in her way.
"It's probably not a good idea to get close to him right now. Watch..." Eddy picked up a stick and threw it at Toyomo and it was designated...At least that's what it looked like but Toyomo just chopped it into trillions of pieces. But it didn't look like he moved. Toyomo was in a state of sleep but he could see everything.
"We'll just have to wait here until he wakes up," Eddy said.
6hrs later.
"Uhg! I'm finally back, Toyomo said, getting a massive headache.
"Looks like you finally woke up," Eddy said standing up.
"...Where is Chad's body?"
"We are getting ready to bury it but we are waiting for you."
"...Alright we should head back then." Toyomo picked up Chad's sword and carried it back to the grave.
He was being buried outside the village a little bit away from the shack.
His casket wasn't lowered into the ground yet. They were using wind Iracuj to keep it up. Everybody showed up that knew him. Once when Toyomo showed up they started lowering his casket.
Everybody stood there and watched in silence. The sound of crying was being blocked out by the sounds of the rain.
"So you want to become a doctor? That's cool. You should go for it. Being there when people need it most, that seems like the type of person you already are." Eddy remembered one of the conversations with Chad.
"How do I talk to him?" Anna asked Chad.
"If you wanna get with Toyomo you got to be obvious about it, And also try to stay strong because It's very obvious he got a thing for strong girls."
"Do think he'll fall for Mizude then!?" Anna said in a panic.
"I don't know...but you better not lose him to her you got that." Chad smiled big.
Anna started crying harder as this memory went through her head.
"You want to get better with a sword? You're already pretty good." Chad said itching his head.
"Yeah but I need to be stronger so I can fight beside them!" Earza looked passionate.
"More like so you can impress Eddy." Chad chuckled a bit.
"Y-yes...that too." Eraza's face turned red.
"Heh, fine I'll teach you."
Earza let the tears flow as the memories of Chad went through her mind.
"Toyomo, I see that you care for your friends. No family. They all care for you as well, never forget the love you all share."
"Like I could ever forget something like that Chad." Toyomo smiled.
Toyomo didn't cry. He would be the one to hold everybody as they cried. And he was going to do as his sister said with the memories.
They started filling up the hole with dirt.
"Chad...you can't leave me now. What am I going to do?" A woman said while holding her stomach.
"Are you Samtail?" Toyomo asked the woman.
"Yes." Samtail look dead in the eyes
"So you're the girl he loved...I'm sorry for your loss." Toyomo said.
"He died before I even got to tell him..."
"Tell him what Samtail...?"
"I'm pregnant..."
"...I really don't know what to say."
"I don't either...My heart doesn't hurt...It feels like it's something much deeper than that. My soul. How do I get rid of this pain...?"
"I'm sorry, pain such as this is something that can only be endured. You find other people to help you endure it. Sorry, I'm not that good at the whole cheering up thing." Toyomo cracked a smile.
"It's ok. I'm tired now. I need to rest." Samtail turned around and started walking away.
"Chad I couldn't protect you...So I'll protect them instead including your firstborn. You weak pullout game Chad." Toyomo said chuckling.
After the funeral...
"Here buddy." Toyomo stabbed Chad's sword into the ground to make a tombstone.
Toyomo walked away and everybody followed.
"We all fought hard today...Go get some rest." Jahol said, walking away.
"Right."
Mission success. Casualties: 27. injured: 124.
The next day.
"Hey excuse me." Toyomo ran over to Samtail.
"Oh, hey."
"I was just taking a walk, you wanna walk with me?" Toyomo asked.
"...Yeah."
"So, you decide on a name?"
"I haven't yet. I don't think I can. Can you do it for me?" Samtail Asked. She looked depressed.
"I'm no good with names. I would have to think about it a little before I could tell you."
"..."
"I could tell you about the human world," Toyomo said.
"...I'm willing to listen." She looked a little interested.
"Well, it's filled with all types of stuff. Like a lot of stone buildings. Back in the human world. I lived in one. It's one hell of a sight. One day I could show you If you like?" Toyomo just wanted to get her smiling.
"That sounds like it would be fun." Samtail didn't look as sad now but still no smile.
"Oh also, This forest has some good flowers but In the human world, there are some places with miles and miles of flowers, of all types of colors. I saw that there are small waterfalls here but, There are huge ones in the human world. Bigger than the trees in the village." Toyomo just walked and told her as much about the human world as he could trying to cheer her up.
He did this for 2 weeks straight. Then one night.
"Hey, I want to take you somewhere," Toyomo said.
"Ok then let's go." Samtail looked better but still no smile.
"Alright, then I'ma need you to get on my back." Toyomo crouches down.
She gently got on.
"Dang, you're heavy." Toyomo chuckled a bit.
"Hey, I'm not heavy." Samtail chopped him in the back of his head.
"Heh, I was kidding." Toyomo laughed and started walking.
They walked to the training ground.
"Hold on tight," Toyomo said.
"Ok"
Toyomo started climbing the Cave.
"Are you able to make it to the top with how heavy I am?"
"Oh, come on I was joking!"
After a little, they finally reached the top...And it was an amazing view. The stars shined brightly over them.
"It's nice up here."
"I know right." Toyomo smiled.
"I miss him so much," Samtail sat down.
"I've lost loved ones as well. I know how you feel. My whole family."
"You said before there is no way to make the pain go away... so does that mean you're still hurting?"
"Yeah that's true I did say that...I sometimes hurt but I found that it only hurts after I have nightmares of watching them die." Toyomo held his necklace.
"So it's true that time heals wounds?"
"Samtail, It doesn't."
"Then why is it you don't hurt but I hurt so much!" Samtail looked angry.
Toyomo just stood up and smiled at her.
"Why is it that it hurts so much! It hurts so much I want to scream until the heavens hear my call! Every day I wonder why must I hurt like this! With this pain! How could anybody live with this!" Samtail looked like she got angrier and angrier.
Toyomo just sat there and smiled.
"That idiot was dumb. He couldn't even dodge a fucking spear! Like what a dumbass" Toyomo smiled bigger.
"W-what!?" Samtail was in shock.
"Ha! That dumbass deserved to die!" Toyomo yelled.
"AAAHG!" Samtail ran and tackled Toyomo and started punching him.
"Chad was a great man! He wanted to show me the world! He wanted me and him to get married! He wanted to become a teacher! I loved him so much! So why! Why did he half to die." Samtail Punched Toyomo over and over again. And Toyomo just smiled.
"That's it...let it all out," Toyomo said.
Samtail stopped.
"You've been holding back...even at the funeral, you didn't cry. The reason you're hurting is because you try to keep all of it in. The way you get through the pain..."
"You bastard you said those things because you knew this would happen." Samtail sounded on the edge of crying. She stood up.
And Toyomo stood up as well and they looked eyes to eyes.
"You cry." When Toyomo said those words she fell to her knees and cried, loud. Letting everything out. Toyomo went over and hugged her and smiled. And held her through it.
After five minutes Samtail stopped crying and pulled away gently. And said.
"Thank you." And smiled as the light of the stars made her tears shine.
"No problem." Toyomo smiled back.
"Chad did you see that? She smiled." Toyomo thought to himself.
4 months later.
"Da hell are you eating?" Toyomo asked Samtail.
"I don't know if it's because I'm pregnant or what but I've been craving fish and cabbage."
"I can get that but you're eating the head of cabbage like an apple...where did you even get the cabbage from?"
"The forest has cabbage trees. Does the human world not have those?" She took a bite of the cabbage.
"No...Is it normal to eat the cabbage by the head like an apple here?"
"No, it's pretty weird," Jahol said walking up behind Toyomo along with Toyomo's group.
"Don't judge me." Samtail didn't show much emotion but you could tell she was happier now.
"Your stomach has gotten bigger. How long does it take to have a baby again?" Mizude asked.
"9 months. And she's been pregnant for 5," Eddy explained.
"I haven't even had the baby yet and I already love it." Samtail rubbed her stomach.
"Can't wait to meet him," Toyomo said.
"Him?" Anna said, confused.
"I just have a feeling it's going to be him."
"Well, your gut is usually right so it might be," Earza said.
"Just watch it will definitely be a boy." Toyomo smiled.
Toyomo took care of Samtail In the times where she needed to throw up. when she was in pain. She would get sick sometimes and Toyomo would be there. Like a good brother.
3 months later outside.
Toyomo suddenly heard water hitting the ground.
"Da hell is that?" Toyomo looked around.
"I-I think my water just broke." Toyomo sat there and processed what she just said.
"Your fucking what!? Your water broke! What do I do!?"
"I don't know!"
"EDDY!!"Toyomo yelled.
15 minutes later they got her to a bed.
"It hurts so much!" Samtail shouted.
Toyomo stood by her and held her hand.
"You can do this!"
"How is she having the baby now! Isn't a month too early!?" Toyomo asked Eddy.
"Yes, but sometimes these things happen. Don't worry." Eddy was trying to stay calm. And keep Toyomo calm.
Doctors started doing what they could Eddy left out and waited.
"Samtail...I've only seen you in this much pain that day on the cave...the pain must be unbearable. Please keep going. Make it through this." Toyomo thought to himself as he squeezed Samtail's hand.
It went on for hours. Samtail passing out from the pain and waking up in the pain. To Toyomo watching that was one of the worst things. "If only I could take some of the pain away!" That's all Toyomo thinks to himself.
Then everything felt like it stopped as he heard a cry.
The cry of a baby. They wiped the baby off and handed it to Toyomo.
"I knew it...a boy." A tear came down Toyomo's face.
Samtail was breathing hard and slow.
"Hey, Samtail, look at your baby." Toyomo would give it to her but she looked too tired to take him.
"Hey hey, don't fall asleep. You got to stay awake." Toyomo shook her a little bit.
"What!" Eddy was talking to one of the doctors outside.
"Yeah...Ever since Samtail was young...she had a weak heart. We tried to heal it but none of it was good enough. She wasn't just getting sick because she was pregnant...It was because she's been sick for a long time." The doctor said.
"W-what are you saying?"
"Rather she survives this is completely up to chance."
"Oh no..."
"Hey...Toyomo...have you decided on...a name?" Samtail could barely talk.
"Yeah, I have! his name is Solomon." Toyomo started crying hard.
"That's a nice name..." Samtail smiled as tears ran down her face.
"Why are you crying!?" Toyomo couldn't stop the tears.
"My baby...It's not moving..." When Samtail said that Toyomo looked down at the baby...It really wasn't moving. Not even an inch.
"I-it's just sleeping! It's ok!"
"Toyomo...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
"Stop saying sorry! You're both fine!!"
"Toyomo...I'm sorry to ask you...but do you mind...seeing those flowers that you were talking about for me?" Samtail Eyes went dim.
"What are you saying we'll go see them together!"
Samtail Didn't respond.
"...Samtail...Samtail, Hey...wake up. come on please...wake up, please!" Still no response.
"No...please...I- I can't hand;e this...It's too much. I can't lose all three of you. I can't handle this please." Toyomo fell to his knees. And he looked down again and saw the baby's lifeless body.
"Ah- AAAAAAGH! AAAAAAGH!" when Eddy heard Toyomo's yell he instantly broke down into tears and rushed to his side and held him tight.
The rest of the group rushed in after and saw Toyomo crying in Eddy's arms as he cried with him. And when they saw that they couldn't hold back either. Tears flowed from everybody...but none as hard as Toyomo.
