Speaking of falling down in an action movie, attending a celebration party for an action movie? That's a really good attitude.
Julia Roberts shook his hand briefly and looked at Rowan's face several times: "Thank you. You are much more handsome than in the photo. I hope we can have a chance to work together."
"I'm looking forward to it, too."
Rowan thought to himself that your mouth is as big as the rumors say. If you were ten years younger, you could give it a try...Here I mean cooperation.
After leaving, John Woo laughed softly and said, "Handsome guys are good."
Rowan shrugged: "You think too much."
John Woo was a little surprised: "You are not happy?"
"No. It's my honor to work with her. This is just because I'm not famous enough."
"I still not a recognise Actor, but if there's an opportunity. I have to grab it. If I can shoot a romantic comedy with Julia Roberts, it's Iike gilding my resume."
John Woo said: "Love comedies are no worse than action movies, and the market is getting hotter and hotter. With your looks and acting skills, you can really give it a try."
Rowan certainly knew this.
The movie "Life is Beautiful" starring him can barely be considered a light romantic comedy.
As an investor, Rowan would naturally researched the market - even if he was careless, Mary would remind and help him.
Rowan is well aware of the popularity of romantic comedies.
As of now, romantic comedies have surpassed horror films and become the best genre of films that can achieve great results with small investment, and it is easy to produce masterpieces that are both commer cially successful and have a good reputation.
As for the excitement of dream dungeons, it is definitely not as good as being a killer, but being able to fall in love is also pretty good.
Rowan nodded "If there is a good script, I will definitely not miss it. Director Woo, if you have a good script, don't forget me."
"No one here has the ability to do this. If you want to find a book, look for it here."
John Woo pointed in a direction and said, "There are directors over there. Aren't you planning to make a movie soon? You can go over there and talk to them."
Rowan gave an OK sign.
As soon as he walked over, he was stopped by two people.
They introduced themselves as Larry Wachowski and Andy Wachowski, the Wachowski brothers. Though in the future they will become sisters so he is a little apprehensive as to how to treat them.
They enthusiastically asked John Woo for an autograph, saying that they were fan of Hong Kong action movies.
John Woo shook hands with the two men.
Rowan watched from the side and aIways felt that there was something weird about the Wachowski brothers.
I can't tell what's weird about it, but it jsst makes me feel like something is wrong. Do these two already have a different taste?
Straight man alert.jpg
They are a bit strange, but there are quite talented. There directorial debut in 1996, the crime film "Sad Flower", was nominated for the Best Screenplay at the 23rd Saturn Awards.
Cost 6 million, box office 7 million.
The business is average but at least they did not lose any money.
It is not easy for a new director, and this is what kills 90% of new directors in seconds.
During the conversation, Larry Wachowski suddenly asked, "Mr. Woo, can you introduce the most powerful action director team in Hong Kong? Oh, yes, in Hong Kong, it's called martial arts director? The Cheng family team?"
John Woo smiled: "That's great, you even know this term. Are you going to make an action movie?"
"Yes it's to make a unique action film."
Andy Wachowski pretended to be mysterious: "We need the most powerful Hong Kong martial arts instructor to realize our ideas."
"That's easy, just go find him."
John Woo patted Rowan on the shoulder and said, "Rowan, you should know him, right? He is one of the most powerful martial arts instructors I know, and he is also very familiar with the most powerful team."
When the Wachowski brothers saw him, their eyes lit up.
Rowan saw it, and Larry Wachowski bit his lower lip.
WTF bro are you serious?!
Rowan's scalp went numb and cold sweat broke out on his back.
Even the Super Agent Al Simmons or Top level Enforcer Sean Trice can't stand it!
Andy Wachowski is being normal: "Mr. Rowan, can we talk for a minute?"
Rowan said cautiously, "If we're just talking about movies."
He was ready to lose his temper.
If the Wachowski brothers weren't normal anymore, he would really go crazy.
Fortunately, when talking about movies, the Wachowski brothers became a little more normal...
"We are currently preparing for The Matrix. At first, we wanted to cast Johnny Depp or Will Smith as the male lead, but they both refused because they couldn't understand the script. We also asked Nicolas Cage to play the role, but he also refused. Warner Bros. asked Brad Pitt or Val Kilmer to play the role, but both of them refused."
"Why is it so hard to understand the script? It's mainly because it's very profound and contains a little bit of philosophy, requiring most of the main actors and staff to read Simulacra and Simulation, a book by French philosopher Jean Baudrillard, and to be able to understand and interpret it."
"If you want to be the male lead, you'd better read Kevin Kelly's "Out of Control: Machines, Social Systems, and the New Biology of the Economic World" and Dylan Evans's evolutionary psychology ideas to be able to explain all the philosophical nuances involved..."
Well, not that normal.
It's okay to study philosophy, but who would have such high demands!
These two people are crazy!
However, most normal people probably don't have the persistence that the Wachowski brothers had in making "The Matrix".
According to the Wachowski brothers, Warner Bros. initially did not want to invest in "The Matrix," a film with philosophical themes and difficult special effects.
The Wachowski brothers did not give up, and in five and a half years they carried on with their vision and completed fourteen versions of the script.
Although most studio executives who read the script liked their idea, they ultimately rejected it.
They kept getting rejected but they never gave up. However, changing the script couldn't change people's minds.
The Wachowski brothers eventually paid out of their own pockets to hire cartoonists Jeff Darrow and Steve Scroche to draw a 600-page, shot-by-shot storyboard for the entire film.
The expensive storyboard was approved by Warner Bros., who invested $60 million and required the film to be shot in Australia to make full use of the budget.
Rowan: "Congratulations."
Andy Wachowski made a bitter face: "The No. 1 male role is still a problem."
John Wio joked: "Can't find anyone who can understand the script?"
Larry Wachowski shook his head: "Keanu Reeves was confirmed at the beginning of the year. He can understand the script, b ut..."
Andy Wachowski continued, "But Keanu Reeves girlfriend became pregnant and her Doctor told that her mental health is low so he rejected us and decided to stay by her side for the next 9 months until the baby is safely delivered. "
"We wanted the main crew to train for at least 4-5 months before we start the shooting, how can Warner wait for so long, they want it to be released in summer of 1999. So we can only find someone else for a lead role."
"Really?! Keanu Reeves girlfriend is pregnant?" Rowan was surprised. Not by the fact that she was pregnant but buy how it happened earlier than it was supposed to happen.
The studio of Face/off and The Devil's advocate were next to each other so he met the main cast from time to time.
He also met his girlfriend and chatted with her from time to time, after he became somewhat familiar with Keanu he had hinted her about the deterioration of his girlfriends mental health and asked him to look after her.
Maybe unknowingly Rowan pushed Keanu and his girlfriend to get pregnant earlier and since he haven't signed the contract for the movie "The Matrix" he could easily backout from it.
Rowan doesn't know if it's good for him or for Keanu as his daughter that was supposed to die in childbirth may live thanks to him while he will be able to get his hands on the black technology of "The Matrix"
