Chapter 57 - 55 This isn’t just Jay’s event

Chapter: The Freshers' Party Debate

Jay and Kabir stood outside the principal's office, both clutching their respective plans. The freshers' party was one of the most anticipated events of the year, and they were both determined to make it unforgettable.

A moment later, the office door opened, and the principal gestured for them to enter.

"Come in," he said, adjusting his glasses as he motioned toward the chairs in front of his desk. "I assume you both have your plans ready?"

"Yes, sir," Jay said confidently, placing his black-and-gold-themed proposal on the desk. Kabir did the same, sliding forward his "Under the Stars" concept.

The principal picked up Jay's file first, scanning the details carefully. "A Black & Gold Party in the college garden. Elegant, structured, and modern. I see you've considered lighting, décor, entertainment, and even budget management. Jay, how do you plan to execute this?"

Jay straightened in his seat. "Sir, I have contacts who can help with décor and setup. As for the budget, seniors will contribute a fixed amount, but we'll need management support for the rest. I checked our college storage, and we already have most of the lighting needed. We just need to rent some elements for a polished finish. If we collaborate with industry professionals, we might even get safety support as part of the package."

The principal nodded, visibly impressed. He then turned his attention to Kabir's file. "Now, let's see this plan—'Under the Stars.' A cozy night event with fairy lights, bonfires, live music, and interactive games. Venue options include the college lawn, a resort, or a riverside location. Interesting."

Kabir leaned forward. "Sir, my idea is more intimate and interactive. It gives freshers a chance to bond, relax, and feel at home in a welcoming atmosphere. The bonfire will create a warm setting, while live music and storytelling will make it feel special. Plus, I've factored in vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options, which would cater to all students."

The principal set both files down and looked at them thoughtfully. "Both ideas are well-planned. They share some similarities—both have entertainment, interactive elements, and a social vibe. However…" He paused, tapping Jay's proposal. "I believe Jay's plan is more structured and feasible for a college-organized event. A well-executed Black & Gold Party can maintain class and excitement while being easier to manage logistically within our premises. We won't have to worry about external venue permissions or unexpected weather changes affecting a bonfire setup."

Kabir nodded, understanding the reasoning. Jay exhaled in relief but didn't gloat.

The principal folded his hands. "However, I want to be clear—this isn't just Jay's event. This is the college's first big event of the year, and it cannot go wrong. Which means…" He looked at both of them. "You two will work together. This is a senior team effort, not a competition."

Jay and Kabir exchanged glances. Then, almost in unison, they said, "Yes, sir."

The principal smiled. "Good. Now, start working on the execution plan. I expect regular updates."

As they walked out of the office together, Kabir smirked. "Guess we're partners now."

Jay chuckled. "Looks like it. Let's make this the best freshers' party the college has ever seen."

And with that, the planning began.
