Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

The howling winds of the endless desert swept across the barren wasteland as Sentry emerged from the shimmering portal, his golden aura flickering against the dim light of the single sun above.

His sharp eyes scanned the landscape. There were no signs of life—only an ocean of sand stretching as far as the eye could see.

"Where am I?" Sentry thought, his mind instantly registering that he had been forcibly transported.

His gaze lifted to the sky—a foreign sky, with only one distant star.

Before he could dwell on it, the ground trembled beneath him.

Then came the roar—a deep, primal, ear-shattering bellow that shook the world itself.

A colossal form emerged from the sands, scattering the golden grains into the air like a rising tsunami. Towering over the battlefield was a giant, golden fox with nine tails, each one moving with a terrifying grace, its sheer presence shaking reality itself.

It was Kurama.

Sentry remained calm, watching the massive beast with cautious curiosity. The fox wasn't just a mindless monster—it had intelligence. That much was clear from the way it locked eyes with Juggernaut, completely ignoring Sentry's presence.

'Is this personal?' Sentry wondered, floating slightly higher, observing as the beast and the brute prepared to clash.

Sentry wasn't the type to fight without reason—but Kurama was a different story.

It had been too long since Kurama had fought with his own body.

Despite existing inside Naruto, sharing memories, power, and battles, he had always been the passenger, the ally, but rarely the warrior himself.

Now, however—he was free, and the exhilaration of battle pulsed through his body like fire.

For years, he had been crushed beneath Naruto's overwhelming skill, losing to him every single day in their fights. It was an experience that humbled and strengthened him. If he couldn't beat Naruto, then he would devour every other opponent that came his way.

He had grown. Refined his techniques.

And now, staring at the unstoppable Cain Marko, he felt genuine excitement.

His massive paw shot forward—a strike that could shatter mountains, carrying the weight of divine fury.

BOOM!

The impact resounded across the desert, sending shockwaves through the sand, creating tremors that traveled for miles.

But Juggernaut did not break.

His unbreakable body absorbed the shock as if it were nothing more than a push, his momentum merely redirected instead of stopped.

Kurama's lips curled back, revealing a toothy grin that oozed wicked amusement.

"Interesting."

Cain stumbled slightly before stopping, confused.

He barely registered that he had been teleported, his mind too simple to fully process that he was in an entirely different world.

What mattered was the obstacle in his way.

A massive golden fox was attacking him, stopping him from reaching his brother—and that alone was enough reason to fight.

"How dare you try to stop me? I will kill you!" Juggernaut roared, his voice shaking the skies as he charged.

Unlike his brother Charles, Cain Marko was not a mutant—his strength was not his own.

He had been blessed—or rather, cursed—by Cyttorak, an ancient, immortallike being from another realm.

By accepting Cyttorak's power, Cain had become the human avatar of destruction.

And his gift was absolute.

— He was indestructible.

— He was unstoppable.

— Even if the universe exploded, he would survive.

But that did not mean he was invincible in battle.

Cain was stupid, reckless, and predictable. His greatest weapon was also his greatest flaw—once he charged, he had trouble stopping.

And Kurama knew it.

Juggernaut sprinted forward, the desert shaking beneath his steps.

Kurama's tails lashed out, moving faster than a whip crack, but Juggernaut simply plowed through them, his momentum unstoppable.

Then—

The sand exploded.

From below, thousands of golden tendrils erupted, twisting like spears, attempting to pierce him from every angle.

Nothing.

Each attack simply slid off him, as if he were wrapped in an invisible force field.

"Is that so?" Kurama grinned, his monstrous teeth glinting under the golden light.

The air shifted—a heavy, oppressive energy building in his maw.

The ground trembled, the very atmosphere warping as a colossal ball of energy formed before him, charged with celestial power.

Then—

A blinding beam erupted.

A pillar of golden destruction tore through the heavens, extending beyond the planet's horizon, a blast so powerful that it disrupted the very fabric of space.

But Juggernaut kept running.

He ran through it as if it were nothing more than a strong wind.

Sentry watched from the sky, his expression unreadable.

"Wow."

There was no struggle.

Juggernaut wasn't even trying.

Kurama's grin widened.

"This... is going to be fun."

The battlefield remained unchanged—a world of endless sand, swirling under the force of titanic blows.

Sentry hovered above, his golden aura flickering like a celestial beacon, watching as Kurama and Juggernaut clashed. Despite the sheer devastation the fox unleashed, Cain Marko continued his mindless charge, a force that refused to be stopped by any physical attack.

Watching the one-sided battle, a voice echoed in Kurama's mind.

"Are you really going to fight like this?"

It was Naruto.

He spoke casually, but Kurama knew his words carried deep understanding. Physical force—even at a cosmic level—was useless against Cain.

If he truly wanted to defeat him, he would need to rely on something else.

Mental attacks. Psychic manipulation. Reality warping.

Kurama scoffed, his fangs glinting as he grinned.

"That would be boring. This guy's just a punching bag, so let me blast him in peace."

Naruto's voice remained calm but carried an edge of amusement.

"Do you want me to break the link?"

Kurama stilled for a second.

Naruto wasn't referring to Juggernaut himself—he was talking about the source of his power.

Cain might have been unstoppable, but he had one major weakness—his mind.

It was the reason his brother, Charles Xavier, had always been the one to neutralize him. His helmet helped against telepaths, but Naruto was on an entirely different level.

Naruto had already seen through him like an open book—his mind was an exposed, vulnerable target.

And the link?

Kurama could feel it too—a connection to something beyond this world, something ancient, powerful, and malevolent.

Cyttorak.

The being that granted Cain his unstoppable power was a higher-dimensional entity, an immortal existence that reigned over its own dominion.

Severing that link would strip Juggernaut of his invulnerability.

But it would also provoke Cyttorak.

The creature might not be able to leave his dimension, but if he could, it could turn into a much bigger problem.

Kurama chuckled.

"No, let me enjoy this."

Naruto simply sighed, letting his partner indulge in his amusement.

But Kurama's grin widened as he turned his sharp, piercing eyes toward Sentry.

From above, Sentry immediately felt the shift.

Kurama's gaze had locked onto him, and in that instant, he understood—the fox wasn't just interested in Cain.

It wanted to test him too.

Sentry barely had time to react before golden beams erupted from Kurama's tails.

Half of them bore down on Juggernaut, continuing the relentless barrage.

The other half?

They were aimed directly at him.

Blinding. Overwhelming. Impossible to ignore.

"He's attacking me too?"

Sentry didn't hesitate.

His form blurred as he shot straight into the sky, avoiding the first wave of destruction. The energy beams ripped through the atmosphere, extending far beyond the horizon, splitting the clouds apart like a divine judgment.

But Kurama was fast.

More beams came, twisting through the air with unnatural precision, homing in on his position.

Sentry's eyes narrowed.

"So, he wants to play?"

Fine.

Let's see if this fox could handle him.

The sky above the desert remained unchanged, its golden hues stretching endlessly, undisturbed by the battle below.

Kurama was still playing with Juggernaut and Sentry, hurling devastating beams while laughing with unrestrained joy. But for Naruto, this moment wasn't about entertainment.

It was about justice.

As he lay comfortably, his head resting on Hinata's soft thighs, her gentle fingers running through his golden locks, his thoughts carried weight beyond imagination.

With a mere thought, he reached across space, pulling two individuals from wherever they were.

In an instant, Magneto and Mystique appeared, suspended in the air, their arrival completely without resistance.

Their reaction was immediate—shock at their sudden displacement, then fear and anger at the presence before them.

Naruto.

He wasn't just some mutant or cosmic force—he was the Immortal King. His mere presence made them feel insignificant, as if the very laws of reality bent to his will.

Naruto sighed, his voice carrying neither warmth nor cruelty—only disappointment.

"Sigh... I was giving you a chance, Magneto, but you treated me like I was one of them."

His eyes, glowing with infinite wisdom and power, locked onto the old mutant.

"You are just an evil old man, no matter how you justify it."

Magneto gritted his teeth, his fists clenching, but he did not interrupt.

Naruto continued, his voice steady.

"Your pride led you astray and made you choose the wrong path every time. I was merciful. I was even sympathetic to your situation. I gave you a chance to choose properly and help your people."

Then, Naruto raised his hand, and a screen materialized before them.

It played out the consequences of Magneto's latest actions.

20,000 innocent lives lost. Billions in property damage.

A tragedy Naruto had already prevented—but one that Magneto had never hesitated to cause.

"Disappointing. Really disappointing." Naruto shook his head.

"I thought you were a smart man. But tell me... why did you believe your life was untouchable?"

His gaze pierced into Magneto, stripping him bare of his illusions.

"Did you actually think I would let you live?"

Mystique's breath hitched as the air grew heavier.

"I do not make compromises, Magneto." Naruto's voice echoed all around them, but there was no warmth in it anymore.

This wasn't the Naruto that smiled, joked, and gave second chances.

This was the Immortal King.

"I give second chances to those who regret their actions, those who have the desire to change. I have never allowed a being to live if they remained unrepentant."

Naruto's voice carried no hatred, no anger—only absolute certainty.

"And you, Erik... you do not regret anything. Not your actions. Not your choices. Not even this moment."

Magneto's eyes widened as he felt something grip his soul.

"I will take care of your people."

And in that instant—

Magneto was no more.

His entire existence vanished—no sound, no explosion, just nothingness.

It was an absolute erasure, a death beyond the reach of time, space, or resurrection.

For a moment, Magneto had struggled.

His mutant power surged, his genes reacted, even his connection to the electromagnetic spectrum flared to its highest level—

But it was meaningless.

Because Naruto wasn't taking energy—he was the source.

Magneto had only borrowed power from the electromagnetic field, but Naruto was the one who controlled the world itself.

There was never a contest.

Mystique stood frozen.

She had fought alongside Magneto for years, believed in his vision, supported his cause.

And now—he was gone.

A part of her had believed—hoped—that Naruto would let him live.

That belief shattered the moment she felt his soul disappear completely.

Her knees buckled, and tears fell, but she didn't dare make a sound.

Because she understood—this was absolute judgment.

This wasn't a punishment.

It was justice.

And she was next.

But then, Naruto spoke again—calmly, gently.

"Open your eyes, Raven."

Mystique gasped, realizing she had closed her eyes in grief.

"Join us and watch this show."

She hesitated, then slowly opened her tear-streaked eyes.

Instead of death, Naruto offered something else.

"I will let you handle the remaining group. Your people will be placed on an island, far from others."

She looked up in shock.

"This island will be protected by my power, so you can live without fear. It will have everything you need to survive."

A moment later, she felt herself land on a platform, her body supported by unseen forces.

His voice was calm, yet it soothed something inside her—a pain she hadn't even realized was tearing her apart.

Mystique's hands trembled as she wiped away her tears.

She looked at Naruto, and for the first time, she understood—

This wasn't a man bound by morality or compromise.

This was a King.

A being who saw things beyond the scope of right and wrong—a being who only saw truth and consequence.

Silently, she nodded.

Then, she sat down in the corner, trying not to draw any more attention to herself.

She wouldn't defy him.

She wouldn't provoke his wrath.

Because Magneto had believed himself untouchable—and now he was gone.
