In a last-ditch effort to turn this unfavorable game around, Fiona decided to target Venus, the backbone of the enemy's momentum. If she successfully eradicates this one giant thread, that might cause a domino effect that will turn the game around.
Despite the low chances of success and the flimsy potential reward, Fiona still pushed forward. This was the best counterplan she managed to come up with, so she had to shoot for it despite the grim outlook. That was what it meant to be a competitor.
A ward showed Venus in Top Jungle just recently. Fiona recalled. I assume she went after the mana buff. From there, where would she go next?
Fiona had to analyze the rest of the board to answer that question. Hmm. I see Cornelia is pushing Top alone. Though, I suppose it is more apt to call that "defending".
It looked like a push in the sense that Cornelia was marching forward with a pack of minions. But, technically, she was still within the boundaries of the team's territory, as undefended as it was without the Top Turret.
At the moment, nobody from StormBlitz was there to contest Cornelia's push. And, knowing Cornelia, she will surely convert this defensive play into an aggressive push if things remain this way.
StormBlitz surely understood that, so they will have to respond in the near future. However, it will not be easy for them to immediately send troops to Top, as the majority of their forces were currently busy pushing the Mid Golem.
However, there was one player missing during this important push: Venus. As speculated earlier, she was most likely stealing the mana buff in Top Jungle right now. As such, if anybody was going to rotate to Top to stop Corenlia's advances, it was likely Venus.
If that happens, she will have to come alone. Fiona thought. An isolated target is a frustratingly rare occurrence when it comes to StormBlitz.
Their team members were clearly trained to stick together during the mid-game. As a result, it was nigh impossible for Fiona to ever find an opportunity to pick off an isolated target.
However, the situation in Top might turn into one such opportunity. In addition, considering how aggressively Venus had been playing recently, she might throw caution to the wind during her rotation.
This might be my one and only chance to strike her down. Fiona thought. But, to make sure it happens, I will have to make a few preparations.
"Good work in Top, Cornelia," Fiona said. "Please return to the base after the next wave."
"Huh? Why?" Cornelia asked. "There is nobody here to contest me, so I can take down their tower!"
"This is StormBlitz we are talking about, they will not let you run rampant for long," Fiona explained. "I suspect their Aeromancer will arrive there shortly."
"Hmph, I say let her come." Cornelia lifted her chin. "I've been waiting for an opportunity to kick that commoner off the high horse anyway."
"Is that so," Fiona smiled softly. I see. She was also raring to take down Venus this entire time. In fact, I assume everybody is paying close attention to Venus and eagerly waiting to see her downfall.
This only further confirmed that taking down Venus was the key play to turn this game around. Therefore, Fiona had to do it herself and she had to do it thoroughly.
"Cornelia, if you stay on the lane, the Aeromancer will rotate over there with the intention to defend," Fiona explained. "However, if you recall, I suspect Venus will try to push."
"Yeah. Knowing that cocky commoner, that sounds likely."
"In that scenario, I might be able to flank her and take her down."
"So, you plan to use me, a noble, as a diversion?" Cornelia twisted her lips. "But well, I suppose I see your point. Hmph. Very well. In that case, I shall recall once I'm near their tower."
"Thank you."
"But, in return, make sure you properly school this arrogant commoner!"
"I promise I will."
Cornelia pushed to the point where her minions threatened to invade the enemy tower. But, that was where she hit the brakes and recalled.
By Fiona's request, Cornelia executed the recalling near enemy minions to make sure the enemy saw the action. This should convince Venus that there were no threats in the vicinity
Wait, she's recalling? Nice! Julia grinned. Heh, she's probably scared shitless of me coming over there. Yeah, that's right! Run back to your mama, bitch!
By the time Julia arrived in Top, the lane was already under her control. Though, the enemy minions thought they were some big shots even without their leader, so they dared to invade the tower area.
Get out of my face, scrubs! Julia summoned Whirlwind, ravaging the entire minion squad with a fierce tornado. Though it was a DoT skill, it wiped out the enemy army within seconds. That's how strong Julia was at this point in the game.
Alright! Julia nodded in satisfaction at the destruction she unleashed on the minions. Now then, let's push all the way to the Golem! They're busy defending Mid, so I can go all the way!
Howard didn't object to that plan, he only warned Julia to pay close attention to her surroundings. In other words, it was time to push, push, and then push some more!
And so, Julia marched forward with the new minion wave. She soon ran into the enemy's next troops, but it was no problem. Another round of Whirlwind will easily delete these weakos from the face of the earth!
From there, Julia will be able to easily press forward. Her end goal was none other than the enemy Golem.
I'mma score more and more points! She asserted. After this game, Howard will realize he was an idiot until now. Like, Gilbert who? That guy has nothing on me! I'm oughta be Storm's Mid!
So far, this entire game has been going her way, so surely this push will be a huge success as well. Julia was on a roll and nobody could stop her! Or, so she believed.
She was so confident about it that she didn't bother paying attention to her surroundings while casting Whirlwind. And, because of her negligence, she failed to notice the danger creeping up on her…
