Chapter 6 - Changes

A few days have passed since I fought Kacchan and the other two bullies.

I thought it was going to be a normal school day like any other, but apparently everyone in class found out that I'm "Quirk-less".

"Deku doesn't have a Quirk" one kid said to some of his friends.

"What, really?" one of the other kids asked.

"Yeah, it's called being Quirk-less" the first kid responded.

"That's so lame" another kid mentions.

"Too bad for him." "He's so weird!" A couple other kids mention.

"So what are you gonna do now, Deku?" one of the kids asks.

"Yeah, you don't have a quirk, and you can't be a hero. You're just a pathetic weakling" the finger bully scoffs.

Before I get the chance to respond Kacchan walks in and happens to hear what the two of them said.

He walks over to them and yells "Shut up, even if he doesn't have a Quirk. Even if he's Quirk-less, he's still stronger than most of you."

Both bullies backed up away from Kacchan. Huh that's surprising, I didn't expect Kacchan to defend me there. Maybe it's just because I wasn't weak or sitting back and taking the abuse.

"Thanks Kacchan" I say to him with a smile on my face.

He turns and yells "Shove it, Deku! I just don't want people to start calling you weak, when you managed to fight well the other day."

"Oh, thanks Kacchan" It feels weird to be complimented by Kacchan.

Kacchan seems a little uncomfortable as he asks "Speaking of….. how did you learn to fight like that?"

"Oh! I've been learning from Kaito Sensei."

"Kaito Sensei?" he asks confused.

"Oh right, my Sensei's name is Kaito Aizawa. I've been learning martial arts from him."

He looks mad that I've started training "Deku! I want to meet your Sensei and see if he will teach me."

Uh oh, I should've know, I wonder if Kaito Sensei will take Kacchan as a disciple. "Okay Kacchan, come over to my place after dinner."

"Alright, I'll see you later Deku."

Well that was weird Kacchan was being nice to me today.... relatively. Hmm…. and it looks like no one is gonna be making fun of me being "Quirk-less".

After class was over I went home and wrote some more things in my notebook before mom called out to me. "Izuku! Dinner is ready."

"Coming mom" I close my notebook and run out of my room over to the table.

After eating for a while mom asks "How was your day Izuku?"

"It was pretty good, but it was kinda weird…"

"What do you mean weird?"

"Well you know Kacchan right?"

"If you are talking about Katsuki, then yeah I do, why?"

"Well a few kids in class were picking on me for being Quirk-less, but Kacchan stood up for me."

"Didn't you say that you got into a fight with him last Friday, because he was bullying a kid from class?"

"Yeah it was a little odd. Maybe he thought they were calling him weak by one of them calling me that. Cause I managed to almost fight him and the other two off."

"I see…"

"Yeah he also wants to come over and talk to Kaito Sensei."

"I see, as long as you two get along, I don't have a problem with it. When is he coming over?"

"After dinner."

"Alright, I'll let his mom know he might be following you to his lessons."

"Okay mom" I finish up eating in time to hear "Ding. Dong." Huh someone is at the door.

"Coming" my mom says while going to open the door. As she opens the door it reveals Kacchan and his mom.

"Ahh.. Mitsuki I was just about to give you a call."

"Yeah, I heard. I wanted to make sure he didn't get into any trouble" she says while ruffling Kacchan's hair.

Kacchan looks pissed off and yells out "Shut it, you old hag!"

"What was that? Katsuki?!" She yells back while knocking him on the head.

'Wow I guess this is where he gets part of his explosive personality.'

"Alright, alright. Let's all calm down. Why don't be head over to Kaito's place" my mom says while trying to diffuse the situation.

"Yeah, he mention something about a way to get strong. Hell maybe, this will teach Katsuki some restraint."

Kacchan yells out "I don't need restraint. You old hag!" earning him another smack upside the head.

"Alright let's go, come on Izuku" mom calls out.

"Coming mom" I run out the door while mom locks up behind us.

We start making our way over to Kaito Sensei's place.

When we arrive I hear Kacchan exclaim "Deku, why does this place look so old?"

"It's an old-style Japanese Estate Kacchan."

"I see… where is your Sensei?"

"Probably in the Dojo, but hey mom can you ring the doorbell."

"Sure Izuku" she goes up to the door to ring the doorbell. "Ding. Dong."

"Katsuki! Be on your best behavior" his mom berates him to only receive a growl in response from Kacchan.

A short time later, the door opens up to reveal Chisa.

She runs up to me and hugs me to her body causing me to blush "Well… if it isn't my favorite Kohai and it looks like you brought some company along."

"Chisa neechan…. please stop hugging me!" I yell out.

"Aww, but your so cute~~~" she squeals as she squeezes me once more before letting me go.

I struggle to catch my breath while replying "ha… Chisa neechan…. Where is Kaito Sensei?"

"Aww all business, like usual, I see how it is. You don't care about me at all, even though I made that Super Special Diet just for you" she starts sobbing a little bit while covering her face with her hands.

"That's not true Chisa neechan! We just need to talk to Kaito Sensei about Kacchan" I say trying to comfort her.

I notice that her shoulders are trembling, I wonder why? Or at least I did until she started laughing loudly "Haha... sorry sorry Izuku, you are just so easy to tease!"

"That's not funny Chisa neechan!" I yell back at her while crossing my arms.

"Anyway, let's head over to the Dojo and you can talk about your friend joining you."

We head out back to the Dojo and enter where I've been practicing for the last month.

"Izuku, my disciple, how are you today?"

"I'm doing well, Kaito Sensei."

"Who are our guests, Chisa?"

"They came with my Kohai and his mom, apparently it's one of his friends."

"I see.. My name is Kaito Aizawa."

"Nice to meet you Mr. Aizawa, my name is Mitsuki Bakugo and this is my son Katsuki Bakugo."

"Nice to meet you too Mrs. Bakugo. How can I help you today?"

Kacchan interrupts by saying "I want to learn how Deku managed to fight so well."

"Ohh… do you now? Were you the kid he fought to protect the other day" Sensei looks him over, giving him an appraising look.

Kacchan yells out "Hell no, there's no way I'd be that weak!"

Sensei looks more serious at that remark, and Kacchan's mom smacks him on the head "Katsuki, watch your language."

"Hmm, so I guess that would mean you were one of the bullies….."

"That's right!" he yells out and then smashes his fist into his hand causing an explosion "I'm awesome and if people don't like it they get a taste of this."

"You shouldn't be so arrogant young man, you can't beat everyone with brute force alone."

"You wanna bet, I'll take you right here and now old man!" Kacchan yells out as he charges at Sensei and before I go to stop him, Chisa neechan puts a hand out.

"Don't worry Izuku, just watch. You haven't even seen what dad's Quirk is yet, have you?"

"He has a Quirk, but i've never seen him use it…"

"That's because he usually doesn't need to just watch for now."

I watch as Kacchan rushes up to punch Kaito Sensei as he dodges here and there.

"See young man, you can't even hit me. Now how are you supposed to beat me?" he asks while dodging another punch.

"Shut up! Stand still dammit!" Kacchan yells out as he rushes at Sensei again.

"Alright." Kaito Sensei stops and lets Kacchan hit him but nothing happens.

"What the Hell!" Kacchan yells out.

I look at the two of them oddly, but then realize that his eyes are glowing red. Wait… don't tell me. "Chisa neechan, does Kaito Sensei's Quirk cancel out other Quirks?"

"Yeah, how'd you figure that out" she responds while looking at me curiously.

"Oh, just a hunch. Kacchan wouldn't decide to do a normal punch for no reason."

"I see" She says not really believing me.

"See young man, nothing happened. The reason, because I erased your Quirk, now tell me how are you going to defeat me."

Kacchan growls out a "if I had my Quirk I could beat you."

"Well guess what? I don't believe that at all considering you couldn't even touch me before, and I wasn't even fighting back" he looks over in my direction "In fact, I believe my disciple over there, would prove to be a greater challenge than you would at the moment."

He growls some more before slumping his shoulders "Fine! I get it, can you teach me to be strong?"

"No."

"Why not!?" Kacchan screams back.

"First off, you have a bad temper, which wouldn't be in line with my teachings. Secondly I can only take on a single Disciple at a time."

"What! What about Chisa?!"

"What I'm talking about young man, is a True Disciple, while I do instruct my daughter occasionally she is not a True Disciple, Izuku is."

Kacchan looks down and clenches his fists "I see.."

"Worry not though, Chisa is more than capable of teaching you."

I look over at her "HUH!?! Chisa neechan you can teach?"

"Well I am a martial arts master of our school, so yeah. You didn't think I was just a pretty face did ya?" she responds back looking offended.

I hastily respond "What?! No! I just…. Wait your teasing me again aren't you." and then stare at her suspiciously.

"Well damn, you're starting to learn. Anyway dad, are you sure?"

"Yes Chisa. In fact technically you aren't a master of our school until you teach a student of your own .I just didn't let you know, because you were so excited when you completed your test."

"Alright dad, Kacchan, come here." she says turning to him.

"My name is Katsuki, you witch!" he yells at her as he walks over, earning a knock on the head from Chisa.

"If you want to learn Martial arts from me, you had better fix that attitude Kacchan. Now bow and recognize me as your Sensei!" She exclaims.

Surprisingly he bows his head, but he seems to have something devious in his head from the smirk on his face.

"Witch Sensei, I accept you as my Sensei" he says to her, which causes a vein to bulge on her head.

"Damn brat! Start doing laps around the house and I'll tell you when to stop."

"Fine! Witch Sensei!" he says as he runs off to start running laps.

"That brat…" Chisa says earning a chuckle from Kacchan's mom.

"I think that this place will do him some good, he started changing when his Quirk manifested. Everyone was praising him too much, his ego was swelling quite a bit and as you can tell he isn't very respectful."

"Nothing to worry about. If he won't act respectful to me, his Sensei, then i'll work him to the bone."

"Well, I leave my son in your hands Chisa. I'll be heading home for now, when will he be done with his training today?"

"Well it's his first day so why don't you come back after an hour."

"Alright, i'll do that. Thanks again Chisa."

"No problem, Mitsuki" she escorts Kacchan's mom out of the Dojo and I assume goes to watch over Kacchan.

"Alright Izuku, I'll be back later. Now as always be safe."

"I will mom, see you soon."

My mom goes out of the Dojo as well and shuts the door on her way out.

"Now my disciple… tell me, what do you think of Katsuki."

"Kacchan is strong, confident and driven towards becoming a hero. I envy him and look up to him a bit as a person I need to beat on my path to become a hero."

"I see…. I guess I made the right choice then…" He looks lost in thought for a moment before he starts again "alright do you remember what we were going to focus on for today and possibly the next week?"

"You said something about self defense, if I remember correctly, right sense?"

"That's right… the goal of self-defense is to protect oneself or another from harm. As just recently you came back from a fight with quite a few injuries, I thought it would be good to bring up something to counteract such things from occurring in the future."

"Yes, Sensei!"

"Alright, now follow after me."

Kaito Sensei shows me a variety of self-defense moves, but most of them are for unarmed combatants. He told me we would work on self-defense against weapons and even general Quirks in the future when I'm older.

An hour later Kacchan slumps down in the Dojo after joining us with Chisa following shortly after.

"Deku… do you do this kind of thing every day?" he asks raggedly

"Not every day Kacchan, I get the weekend off."

"I see…." he responds and suddenly goes quiet.

I look over at him to find him asleep and snoring.

"I guess, the first day is always the worst."

Both of our mom's walk in and pick us up.

"Alright boys" they say "let's go home."
