The Lady of the Lake
After the world ran out of water, everything fell apart. What’s left is dust and a broken system held together by old machines. Somewhere beneath an artificial lake, a forgotten AI waits: The Lady of the Lake. She was built to protect the water, but now, she chooses who deserves it.
Riven is a scavenger, carrying something valuable and dangerous in his satchel. When a deal goes wrong, he ends up injured and alone in the slums, until Cassian finds him. Cassian is sharp, mocking, and works at a place where people sell what they have to survive. They don’t trust each other in the beginning, but their connection builds stronger over time.
As they travel deeper into the ruins, strange things begin to happen. Riven starts to feel something calling to him from beneath the lake. The AI is waking up.
This is a story about survival, trust, and two people learning to rely on each other in a world that’s falling apart.
