For Max, this cycle of crime and punishment has become routine. He's got no home, no roots, and no real desire to change. Until one day, everything goes quiet. After completing another stint and prepping for reentry, Max finds there's no response from Earth. No call from Chief Xel. No orders. No comms. No people. The planet, once overrun and suffocating, is now eerily silent. Confused but intrigued, Max returns to a ghost of the world he knew, accompanied only by the cynical banter of VERA and a stray dog he picks up along the way.
